Ginny walked down the hallway towards her room. She had just finished eating a large dinner with her family. She had been talking to Ron and he told her Hermione and Harry would be coming tomorrow.
" Just in time for Harry's birthday!" Ron had been so excited for them to be coming so soon. Harry's birthday she thought I forgot about Harry's birthday. It was in to days so she didn't really have to worry about it right now.
She opened the door to her room. As it creaked opened a large brown barn owl flew through her window onto her oak desk. She walked up and untied the piece of parchment tied to the owl's foot. As she read it she couldn't believe what she read.
Ginny~
Hey there, Gin. How is everything going? Well I'm writing you this letter to let you know that I'm coming sooner than you were expecting me to. I'll probably be arriving in about two hours or so. Make sure and tell everybody- especially your parents. I have already eaten so no need to worry about me. I'll tell you about what Victor and I did over the summer.
Sincerely,
Hermione
That gives me enough time to bring down the spare bed from the attic, Ginny thought quickly. But what about Harry's birthday present? Her crush on Harry in her first year had slowly faded away year by year. Now that she was in her fourth year at Hogwarts she thought of Harry as a brother instead of a crush.
She walked out of her room to find Ron going down the old stairs towards her.
"Did you get an owl from Hermione?" he asked, while he was catching his breathe, "I saw her owl fly out your window." Ginny couldn't believe her own brother was spying on her.
"What if I just happened to get an owl from her and you didn't," she managed to say through her smirk. She knew Ron liked Hermione ever since his second year. (She had read his diary.)
"What did she say?" Ron said slightly blushing
"She said that she had a change of plans and that she'd be here in two hours instead of tomorrow." Ginny turned and walked up towards the attic. She heard this right before she left:
"Two hours! Oh my gosh I've got to get ready!" As Ginny walked up the stairs she started laughing.

Hermione walked on the overgrown grass to the open door where the Weasleys were waiting to greet her. Ron walked down the stairs to meet her.
Hermione gave him a hug and said "I missed you a lot, Ron." With that Ron turned a light shade of red. She pulled away and walked up to the rest of the family.
Mrs. Weasley engulfed her into a very large hug and said, "Welcome back, dear. How was the trip?" Hermione tried to reply but her voice was muffled because Mrs. Weasley pulled her quickly back into a hug. Finally when Mrs. Weasley let go Fred and George gave her a welcome back present. (Dung bombs and they set them off right next to Ginny) After Ginny and Hermione had washed all of the dung off them they decided it was time for bed. Ginny had brought the spare bed down from the attic and had managed to set it up quite nicely. Hermione sat down and started talking about her vacation with Victor Krum. It turns out she realized how she felt about Ron and she talked to Victor and they had decided to keep in contact and still be friends.

Ginny and Hermione woke up to the aroma of bacon, pancakes, toast, orange juice, and other kinds of breakfast foods. Ginny walked down the hallway towards the bathroom, only to find Fred shaving. She left without brushing her teeth and quickly walked downstairs to the kitchen. She saw Ron and Hermione talking. Maybe she thought Hermione is going to tell Ron how she feels. When Ron turned a bright red Ginny knew what she had said.
Ginny watched as Ron took Hermione's hand and led her outside. Just as they were walking outside Mr. Weasley walked in.
"Good morning. I'll be leaving in a few minutes to pick up Harry," he announced. "Where is Ron?" he added on when he noticed he was gone.
"Oh Hermione and him went outside," Ginny replied.
"Hermione and he, dear."
"Oh sorry Mum."
"I don't think I will disturb them, so Ginny would you like to come with me?" Mr. Weasley asked politely
"Sure, Dad I'd love to go with you."
"Okay then we better be off. Don't want to leave Harry waiting. Goodbye dear we'll be back soon."
"Goodbye and drive safely."
"Bye mum. Don't worry Dad won't let any muggles see us." Mrs. Weasley didn't hear the last past because she had rushed them out to the car.
Mr. Weasley started up the car and they flew off down the road. Ginny turned on the radio only to hear Muggle music.
"Doesn't this radio play any wizard music?" she asked sounding very annoyed.
"I'm sorry dear I'm afraid it doesn't," he replied in a very exasperated tone. Ginny immediately turned off the radio.
When they stopped in front of number four Privet Drive Harry was sitting on the curb waiting for them. When Ginny got out to help him Harry stood and was surprised Ron wasn't there.
"Where's Ron?" he asked waiting for an answer. Ginny was too busy trying to lift his trunk into the back seat of the car to hear him and Mr. Weasley was trying to help (but she wouldn't let him) to hear him. Harry repeated his question. This time Ginny heard him and answered,
"Let's just say Hermione and him-Hermione and he were a bit preoccupied." She winked at him.
"What were they- Ohhhhhhh" Harry realized what she meant and then walked over to help her with his trunk. After Ginny had loaded the trunk alone (she wouldn't let either of them help- even though they tried to.) They all squeezed in the front of the car and flew off into the sunset. (A/n yes I know it's corny.)

Hermione walked down the stairs quietly. She walked quickly because she had just seen Fred shaving in the bathroom. She hurried down to the kitchen where she saw Ron sitting at the table eating a piece of toast. She walked over to him and sat down next to him.
"Good morning Ron," she said trying to strike up a conversation.
"G'murning," he said his mouth full of bread.
"How did you sleep last night?" he said after he had swallowed it.
"Just fine, you?"
"I had a strange dream, but it was pretty good."
"Ron?"
"Hmm?"
"I need to tell you something."
"What is it? Is something wrong?" he said with a worried look on his face.
" Well no it's just.... well I.... um...iwikou," she mumbled under her breath.
"What was that 'Mione? I couldn't understand you. You were mumbling."
"Well I um... okay here it goes. I like you," she said putting an unsure look on her face. Ron turned as red as he could get. He took her hand and led her out the back door.
"Hermione" he said as soon as they got outside. "I... I umm... I feel the same way," he said looking straight at her.
"Ron, I didn't think you did," she said her eyes glued to her shoes. He lifted her head and leaned in and formed a small kiss.
(A/N yea I know a cliffhanger. You'll have to wait for the next chapter )
