It was currently 11:06 PM. Number 4 Privet Drive was completely silent, except for the occasional hoot of an owl from the smallest room in the house, or the occasional rumble from the stomach of a large boy, (who could be mistaken for a baby elephant) that seemed almost like an earthquake. This boy's name was Dudley.
Now Dudley lived with his mother, Petunia Dursley, and father, Vernon Dursley. He also lived with an owl named Hedwig who belonged to his cousin, Harry, Harry Potter.
Well, in the middle of the night, Harry happened to wake up. But Harry didn't wake up because of an owl or earthquake. He woke up because of a nightmare.
He had had the same nightmare for the past two weeks, ever since he arrived "home" from school.
Harry would be standing in the middle of a hedge maze. Then, out of the sky, this giant trophy would appear. It had written on it, Triwizard Cup. But when he looked into the trophy's reflection, he didn't see his face. He saw the face of a different boy. A boy whose name was Cedric, Cedric Diggory. But Cedric was dead, killed at the hands of a wizard named Peter. Peter was a minion of a dark wizard called Lord Voldemort.
As the cup would get closer, the face would change into a skull. At this point, Harry would always run, but no matter which way he went, or how fast he ran, it would always corner him. The trophy would then smash into Harry's chest. Harry would then feel like a fish hook was pulling him up by his naval. Then, darkness, not just darkness, like the kind will fade away when the sun comes up, but darkness that you know will always follow you, where ever you go.
The pain would then begin pain like no other pain, pain that would drive you insane. Screams would erupt, but not Harry's screams, his mothers, then, laughter, evil, cold, lifeless laughter, and then, silence, but a voice would come into Harry's head," Harry, why didn't you save me, why, why, why, why!!!".
Harry gasped as he rolled out of bed and onto the floor. He woke to a loud thud and a sharp pain in his shoulder, right where a cut from a giant spider had been. He lay there in silence, listening to the soft hooting of Hedwig. Amazingly, the earthquakes from the next room where gone. Dudley must have died Harry decided, either that or he was in the fridge, breaking his so called "diet" of carrots, grapefruit and broccoli. In reality he had two dozen doughnuts for breakfast, a chocolate cake for lunch, and two trays of brownies for dinner. Dessert was three bowls of ice cream covered in chocolate, caramel and whipped cream.
All of this was possible because of Harry and Dudley's deal. Harry, who had to keep up with his school work, needed to some how make a deal with Dudley. Dudley, who was always hungry, wanted to eat more. So, Harry and Dudley made an "unholy" alliance. Harry would lend Dudley his invisibility cloak every other night if Dudley didn't say anything about Harry's studies. This year, Harry was planning on be so sharp in school that even Snape, Harry's least favorite professor, the potion teacher, would have nothing to criticize. But little did Harry know, Snape wouldn't be the teacher Harry had to worry about at Hogwarts.
