Weasley's The Name: Seventh Year

Chapter 10- Nearing The End

A seventh year walked the stairs of Gryffindor tower doing his nightly run to make sure that none of the students were out of bed. As he passed the door to the third year boys' bedroom, he heard footsteps heading towards him and what had to be a whisper or two.

"Who's out here?" Anthony Weasley called, crossing his arms. "If you come out now, I'll let you off."

A boy with black hair and bright blue eyes peered around the corner, smiling widely at Anthony. The seventh year shook his head and sighed,

"Orion, what are you doing out of bed?" he asked his cousin.

Orion Potter jumped forward awkwardly, as if he had been pushed. The fourth year looked almost exactly like his father, except his hair fell handsomely in front of his eyes.

"I...I was looking for...you! I wanted to know if I could...er...get a glass of water?" he explained, wringing his hands in front of him. Anthony just smirked; he had heard all of the excuses, and this one had to be the lamest.

"If you want a chance of replacing Jacob as Keeper next year, I suggest you stop hanging out with hooligans. Accio Invisibility Cloak!" Anthony exclaimed, pulling his wand swiftly out of his pocket.

Immediately, three other boys appeared and the cloak flew into Anthony's hand.

Jacob Weasley, Brian Weasley, and Jamie Potter all stood, each with a different expression plastered on their face. Jacob looked really annoyed, Brian was trying to stifle a laugh, and Jamie was in complete shock.

"Hooligans?" Jacob groaned, his eyes full of disgust. "You sound like Mum." He stuck his finger in his mouth and gagged as Jamie tried to cover his cousin's mouth,

"We're going to get in more trouble!" the first year squealed nervously. He also had black hair, but his eyes were the same shade as his mother's, a deep chocolate brown; right now those eyes looked terrified.

"Where were you guys going?" Anthony sighed impatiently because Jacob and Brian seemed to have a very low amount of respect for him. Hopefully I'll at least hear an entertaining story.

Brian stopped his laughter and put his arm around Jamie (who brushed him off in fear that this would get him in more trouble).

"Ah well, we just wanted to show our little Jamie the beautiful sights of the Forbidden Forest, you know how gorgeous it is these days, late in spring," Brian said, a large smile on his face. Anthony sighed.

"You'll get the cloak in the morning and I won't tell on you," he said, trying to go easy on them.

Jacob and Brian groaned and stared daggers into Anthony, annoyed that he ruined their fun. Orion and Jamie quickly rushed past their cousins and to their appropriate dorm rooms, relieved that they didn't get in trouble.

"You could be more fun, you know," Jacob said as he and Brian began up the stairs. Anthony smiled at his twin with something of a giddy grin.

"Of course," he said, patting something gold on his chest. "But then, I wouldn't be Head Boy, now would I?"

~~~
Anthony made his way down to the Gryffindor common room to put out the fire, when the door to the girls' dorms opened. He stopped and threw the Invisibility Cloak over his body as Taylor Parkinson crept out from behind the door.
Jake's not the only one who knows how to use this...
He watched as she looked around the common room, frowning softly. Taylor started down the last small flight of stairs to the common room, and Anthony followed her, a mischievous smile sliding on his face.
She made her way around the couch and pointed her wand towards the fireplace. Immediately, the fire burned down and Taylor stood there watching it, as if waiting for something.
He stood in his place for a few moments, enjoying the bouncing light that enhanced her features, her rosy cheeks and her sparkling eyes. She was still in uniform, but her fuzzy pink slippers gave Anthony the impression that she was ready for bed, and should hurry up his actions.
He slowly approached her and let the Invisibility Cloak fall to the ground. Startled by the noise, Taylor quickly spun around and gasped, but Anthony's lips on hers silenced her.
She wrapped her arms around his neck the second she realized what was going on, and his long arms slid around her waist, pulling her close. They deepened the kiss and she sighed into his mouth, making him shiver with excitement. She combed her fingers through his strangles of red hair and Anthony backed the two up until he was in front of the couch. He sat down slowly, pulling her down on top of him.
His hands traced up each and every vertebrae of her back until he reached her neck. Slowly, he pulled the band out of her low bun, causing her long blonde hair to topple down her back. He loved to run his fingers through her silky locks, and Taylor enjoyed curling his around her fingers.
A few minutes later (well, a bit more than a few), they finally broke their kiss, and looked fondly into the others' eyes.
"We really shouldn't be doing this," she whispered as she traced a slender finger around his face. Anthony smiled and kissed her finger as it slipped over his lips.
"But it feels so right," he growled, pulling her closer. Taylor giggled and kissed him softly, her lips lingering on his.
"Prefects are not allowed out of bed at this time either, you know." She sighed, slipping off of his lap and sitting by his side. Anthony smirked, not wanting to break the rules, but enjoying it ever so much.
"You're right...you're always right..." he whined, a playful smile on his face. Taylor giggled and pushed him away.
Grinning, Anthony pulled her back into his arms, hugging her and staring into the fireplace. She smiled peacefully, closing her eyes and leaning her head on his chest. She listened to his heart, enjoying the steadiness of its beats.
The redhead looked down at his girl, smiling at how sweet she looked in her light slumber. His gaze turned back to the fireplace and then to the object that was lying in front of it. With his long legs, Anthony reached his foot over and snatched the Invisibility Cloak on his shoe.
"What are you doing?" Taylor murmured, snuggling deeper into his chest. His free arm grabbed the edge of the cloak, and then he quickly threw it over them.
Taylor immediately felt the cloak land on her, and she looked up at Anthony. He smiled brightly and leaned towards her, kissing her nose.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" he said seductively.
Taylor's eyes widened as she reached out and touched his face. Slowly, he pulled her up from beside him, and the two lied side by side on the rather large couch.
The lovely blonde then found her position under his arm again and she nuzzled his chest with her nose. Anthony smiled at the gesture and wrapped his other arm around her, and they fell asleep under the protection of the Invisibility Cloak.
~~~

"Don't."

Taylor rolled her shoulders, shutting her eyes tighter; something had disturbed her slumber. She sighed happily as she realized she was lying beside Anthony and gave him a soft squeeze around the waist.

"Please, don't!"

Her eyes shot open at Anthony's frantic voice. She felt his body under hers, and slowly, she pushed herself up to look at him. The fire that still flickered from the fireplace illuminated the room enough for Taylor to see Anthony's scrunched up face.

His eyes were tight and his cheeks were a furious red. His lips moved as if something was hurting him and he was retaining a scream, and she watched his eyes roll under their lids.

"Anthony..." she whispered, touching his cheek. At her touch, his face snapped the other way.

"Do what you want to me, just don't hurt her!" he cried, squirming underneath her arms, one of his hands searching the ground as if looking for his wand.

It took Taylor a few seconds to realize what was wrong, and her heart throbbed painfully when she did. Jacob once confided to her that Anthony had been much more affected by the events of his first year than he had let on.

She never approached him about it, fearing that Jacob's trust in her would be broken, but she did know that Anthony often woke up screaming, and wouldn't stop until Jacob or the other boys were able to calm him, sometimes even opting to take him to the Hospital Wing.

"It's all right, love," she said soothingly, pushing some hair out of his eyes. Taylor brushed her knuckles across his cheek in a soothing manner, hoping that he wouldn't flinch away. Fortunately, he didn't.

"I'm not a mudblood."

His voice was incredibly soft, but Taylor heard it in the silence of the common room. She continued stroking his cheek until he stopped muttering, and Anthony's pained expression slowly faded away. He regained the calm breath she had fallen asleep to, looking as if he had never had the nightmare.

Taylor continued to watch him as if she had to assure herself he was truly sleeping. When she was satisfied, she planted a soft kiss on his lips and snuggled back into her spot under his arm, her gentle blue eyes watching him until sleep took over.

~~~
"Where's Anthony? I need the cloak, Dad will kill me if he finds out we got caught!" Jamie squealed. He and Orion had come down to the common room early the next morning, expecting Anthony to already be up.
Jamie Ronald Potter was the sole keeper of the Invisibility Cloak. Harry had given it to him because...well, if he had given it to Rose, he was sure her cousins would have had too much fun with it. He was a Professor, after all.
"If he's not down here, that means he's still asleep. I told you! Even Head Boys sleep in on Saturdays! Can we go back to bed now?" Orion exclaimed, flinging himself on the couch.
Only...he didn't fall on the couch. Jamie watched in amazement as Orion floated uncomfortably over it.
"Geroff!" a deep voice mumbled. Jamie squeaked and jumped away, fearing that a ghost had invaded the common room. At the end of the couch, a patch of red hair appeared, and soon Anthony's entire face popped up. "ORION! GET-OFF!" he screamed.
Orion was on the floor in less than two seconds and Jamie giggled, but stopped as his brother sent him an annoyed glare. The Invisibility Cloak fell to the floor, and Anthony and Taylor appeared on the couch.
Jamie swiped the cloak into his arms, holding it close. Orion stood up, rubbing his backside and looking annoyed. His annoyed glare disappeared, though, when he stared at his cousin and Taylor.
"What's going on here?" he asked, ready to laugh. Anthony's face immediately flushed red and he shook his head furiously. Taylor, on the other hand, began to laugh.
"Aw, you're too cute! We fell asleep last night under the cloak. It's rather warm."
Orion and Jamie just stared in shock at the two. Anthony stood up, and pointed towards the stairway to the dorms, his arm stiff.
"Just go back to bed, it has to be really early," he demanded. Orion and Jamie started towards the stairs, but were stopped when a swarm of people came through the entrance.
"You better keep quiet Potter! Just because you're Seeker doesn't give you the right to cancel practices!" Jacob screamed, striding into the common room in a huff. Brian nodded furiously and plopped into one of the large chairs of the room.
Anthony watched as his brother headed towards the portrait hole, in complete Quidditch attire and face crimson. Brian was in uniform as well, and his face looked just as flushed. The room was filled with the Gryffindor Quidditch team, most of which looked extremely exhausted.
"Excuse me for looking after my teammates!" a shrilly voice shrieked. Rose Potter threw her hands up in the air, causing her long red hair to bounce around. "We were all so tired last night! Caitlyn and I had a detention with Snape! There's no bloody way that we could wake up and be in shape for a rigorous practice right before the game!
"You had us practicing right after school until the detention started! We're tired Jake!"
Anthony noticed that she was in uniform too, but by the look on her face she wasn't happy about it.
"What's going on here?" he said, coming in between the two before hexes began to fly. Jacob crossed his arms and stared at his brother, looking as if someone had told him that the Cannons were disassembling.
"You know what she did? She cancelled our morning practice. She CANCELLED our practice! I'm the captain! I cancel practices!" His voice went going higher with each sentence, and his face was now a deeper shade of red than his hair.
Rose turned to Anthony, her eyes pleading. It was scary how she looked so much like his aunt Ginny, except for the brightness of her green eyes.
"There was no way we could go out there this early! Anthony, you know how Snape's detentions are!" she complained, crossing her arms as well.
"Actually, I don't. But still, you're not captain, Rose," Anthony said calmly. Jacob's face took on a look of triumph and he stuck out his tongue at his little cousin. Anthony turned to him, making his twin lose that sense of victory.
"But I don't see how you can expect them to work this hard."
"It's not my fault these two," Jacob said, motioning towards Rose and one of the team's chasers. "Don't know how to stay out of trouble!"
"LOOK at who's talking!" the chaser yelled. Brian Weasley snorted, and the chaser sent him a huge grin.
Jacob glared at his co-captain.
"-Plus you laughed when you saw those red and gold streaks of hair on Snape!" Caitlyn Finnegan exclaimed, a wide grin jumping onto her face. She had short sandy hair, and brown eyes that could bore holes through lead. Jacob had to stifle a laugh, but still looked rather putout.
"Fine!" the Quidditch captain said tiredly. "The game's at four, be there at three, got it?" And he left his team to go back up to his dorm. The team (including Brian) cheered happily, and began to dance around the room to spite their captain.
~~~

As Jacob headed upstairs, Soledad Diego followed him up after twirling a few times with Sean Wood, the third year Chaser. Jacob heard her footsteps and stopped abruptly.

The two were out of sight of the people in the common room, and they were only a few steps away from each other. Jacob turned around and noticed the smile on her face and he couldn't help but smiling shyly back at her.

The two had a...thing going on. They weren't boyfriend and girlfriend like Anthony and Taylor, but...they had gone on dates to Hogsmeade, and they've kissed goodnight a few times...well, more than goodnight...

"Hello Soledad, happy about the cancellation?" he said, hoping his voice wouldn't crack. She nodded happily and pushed her brown curls behind her ear.

"Of course! I can't believe you gave een!" she exclaimed.

"Yeah, thought I'd take off the title as Dictator for the day." He flashed a bright smile at her, and he noticed that she blushed. "Well, er..." he mumbled, scratching his head. Soledad giggled and rolled up her sleeves.

"So, what will you be doing den, unteal tree?" she asked. Jacob leaned against the wall, thinking.

"I don't know..." Don't say that you idiot! he thought. Ask her out! "Will you like to go to Hogsmeade with me?" he said rather quickly. He felt his face burn and watched as Soledad's blush deepened.

"You really want to reesk that? It ees deh last game..." She knew perfectly well that even though it wasn't a Hogsmeade weekend, the two would still be able to spend some time out in the town; he had shown her all of the exits, including one they had recently discovered.

"Ah, we'll be back and on the pitch before Madam Hooch is." He winked as Soledad rolled her eyes, knowing that his cockiness would never fade.

"Bien, I'll meet you in deh common room around...noon?" she suggested.

"I think we should have a little meeting right now..."

Jacob forgot about his nervousness and went down the few steps to kiss her, pushing her softly to the wall and letting her wrap her arms around his neck. He was slinking his arms around her waist when they rammed into by Rose and Caitlyn. The two girls laughed hysterically, pursing their lips and making kissing noises.

Jacob's anger at them immediately returned.

"I'ma murder you two!" he screamed with fury, chasing them all the way up to the door of the girl's dorms.

Their squeals were heard as they shut the door and they quickly turned into laughter. Soon their voices disappeared all together as they headed to their dorm.

Jacob stomped his foot, completely flustered at the way the girls disrespected him. He turned around to see Soledad standing behind him, looking rather amused.

"Flustered, Jake?" she said quietly, passing him. Jacob grabbed her wrist, keeping her from leaving. The grip he had on her sent shivers down the girl's spine, and he pulled her towards him, leaving inches between their noses.

"Very," he whispered. Then, he gave her a very soft and lingering kiss. Soledad tried to deepen it, but before she could, he swiftly left to go into the boys' dormitory.

Soledad watched him shut the door before she touched her lips with her fingers. A blush quickly crept up her cheeks, and she too left to the dorms.

~~~
Rose and Caitlyn burst into the sixth year girls' dorm laughing hysterically. Luckily, there were only two other girls in there, and both were awake. Abigail Wood was still sitting on her bed when the two Quidditch players came in. The fourth roommate strode out of the bathroom, her hair on the top of her head in a towel.
"What in the world...?" Rebecca Lupin called, walking to the middle of the room. Rose and Caitlyn stopped abruptly, hearing their roommate's voice.
"Uh oh. Did we disturb you, Becca?" Caitlyn giggled, covering her mouth quickly.
Rebecca rolled her eyes and pulled the towel out of her hair. As it fell to down, she tossed her straight light brown hair over her shoulder. Rose and Caitlyn couldn't help but admire how perfect she looked. They cursed the quarter Veela silently.
"As a matter of fact, you did. What are you guys doing in uniform? I thought you said no morning practice last night?"
Rose nodded happily and jumped on her bed, taking off her equipment.
"Yep. But Jake flew in here demanding that there be practice, but we went down and told him off. We can sleep in today!"
Rebecca nodded and walked daintily towards the mirror, checking out her appearance carefully. She of course looked perfect, which annoyed the hell out of her roommates.
Abigail Wood slid out of her bed and to her knees. She looked under her bed and in search of her shoes and she called out to Rebecca (who was now deciding whether to wear her hair up or down).
"Why do you even bother looking in the mirror?" she asked, pulling out a tee shirt of Caitlyn's from under her bed, with no idea of how it got there. Rebecca spun around and smiled slyly at her.
"The same reason you guys do," she said simply.
The three stared at her oddly, completely confused. Rebecca rolled her eyes at the clueless looks of her friends. She turned to Abigail and crossed her arms.
"Don't you think I see how you stare at my brother? Come on, it's obvious!"
Abigail felt her face burn immediately, and she jumped onto her bed and buried her head in her pillow. Rose giggled and skipped across the room onto Abigail's bed, joining the conversation. Caitlyn stayed on hers, still taking off her equipment.
"Really Abby?" Rose asked, combing her hands through her red hair. "You still fancy Rigel? Come on!"
Abigail peeked out from behind her pillow.
"He's so perfect," she whispered, her blush growing again and making the two other girls giggle. "He's nice to everyone, but I feel like he's nicer to me."
"He has mentioned you a few times, out of nowhere." Rebecca said, pulling her knees to her chin. "He seems quite taken by you."
A rush of blood flooded Abigail's cheeks and she covered her face with her hands. Rose and Rebecca giggled wildly, and the girls fell back on the bed, talking about their crushes. Caitlyn rolled her eyes and threw the smaller pieces of equipment at her friends, hoping that they would stop being so girly.
