~Chapter 1~

James Potter ran into the platform, nine and three-quarters, followed by his two good friends, Sirius Black, and Remus Lupin. They all laughed as James threw a Dungbomb at his sister on the way through.

"That was good, James! We should use some more on the train!" Remus managed to say through his crazy fit of laughter.

"Yea, did you see Gina's face? Covered with it!" James chuckled.

As they walked through a crowd of second years, many started whispering. James and Remus then started blushing but kept looking forward.

Sirius, on the other hand, was smiling and waving while saying, "Hi, girls! Second years, I believe?"

James turned around and looked at the idiot. Even though Sirius to all the girls was cute and muscular, the problem with him was that he didn't have a brain. Nobody knew why he always acted like a four year old.

Sirius always had girls younger than him; fall head over heals when he came near. James had girls his age looking at him dreamily in class. Remus had girls that were older teenagers and were looking down at him and giving him those looks of, 'Hey, cutie. Wanna go out?' Remus didn't really like it though--it made him nervous. James grabbed Sirius by the sleeve, and pulled him out of the mob of small girls.

"See you around!" Sirius called, making one of the girls squeal.

"I think he was waving at me!" said one of the girls

"No! He was totally waving at me!" wailed another girl.

"No way!" After that, the group started getting very angry.

James rolled his eyes; as he moved along the train, not wanting to look back and said, "See what you did? Now were never going to have some piece and quiet, again." James stared at Sirius.

"It's the looks, I tell yeh! The looks!" Sirius said in mock begs.

Remus finally spoke up, "Uh, James, it looks like someone is looking beautifully nice today!"

James looked were Remus was staring. His mouth opened with awe. Sirius looked, too, and widened his eyes. Standing there was a girl. She had beautiful long, red hair, with the most gorgeous emerald green eyes. Her skin was almost tan. She hadn't any freckles on her face. She was wearing long, khaki pants, with a green tank top. She had a slender body, and long legs. She looked like an angel to the boys.

James noticed that the girl was walking towards them. He snapped back into reality and quickly hit his friends on the back of the head. Sirius shook his head, thinking he wasn't seeing right and Remus rubbed his eyes. The girl was walking right towards them.

"Hi guys! I missed you!" the girl greeted. She was standing right in front of James' cart. The boys just kept staring.

"Uh, James?" the girl noticed that the boys were almost stiff. She waved her hand rapidly in James' face. James jump back suddenly; he then turned red with embarrassment.

"Oh, uh, hi, Lily." James was staring at her beautiful face. He then noticed that Sirius and Remus weren't moving.

"Uh, sorry about them," James quickly stamped on their feet. Sirius broke out of the stare and hopped with pain.

"OUCH! What'd you- oh." Sirius noticed that Lily was staring at him. "Hi Lily. You look... uh..." he turned a blush of red.

"WONDERFUL!" James yelled then everybody stared at him. Remus nudged him.

"That was my line," mumbled Sirius then looked up and said, "Hi Lily."

Lily started laughing. She then stepped forward and hugged James, then Sirius, and then Remus.

"Come on you guys, we can get a good seat in the back." Lily turned around and started walking. James was the first to get behind her, after jamming through Remus' cart.

"Out of my way! Age after beauty! That means Lily's first! Then I'm second!" said James while he pushed his cart next to Lily.

"Wait, James, isn't it, before beauty, cause if it is, I-," Sirius started to say when, James turned around and gave him the stink eye, "Never mind." Sirius said quickly, "Go right ahead."

"So, what did you do this summer?" James asked, trying to make conversation. Lily looked at him, and patted him on the back.

"Well, I missed you, then I missed you some more, then I had the greatest time missing you!"

"Oh, sounds like fun! Did you miss me?" James grinned widely and Lily giggled.

James and Lily were the best of friends. The whole gang was best friends, but James and Lily were extra best friends. Only because they've known each other the longest, even before they went to Hogwarts--but they weren't boyfriend and girlfriend...though, James now started feeling a little different, when he was around Lily; he wasn't sure what it was.

When they got to the back of the train, they had let off a couple Dungbombs in every other compartment, thanks to Lily; she seemed to be the sweetest girl in school. She opened the compartment door, pretending to be crying, asking people if they had seen her lost kitten, while James and the rest were sneaking Dungbombs in the cracks of the door, so when she closed the compartment door, they would explode. The whole plan was Remus' idea; he always was the brain of the operation or in their case the prank.

After their big fit of laughter James calmed down and noticed that he had one more Dungbomb left.

"What should we do with this one?" he asked.

Remus looked at it, and then a devilish looking grin spread across his face. He whispered to his friends what they would do.

James, Lily, Sirius, and Remus looked through the compartments, trying to find one, specific person. Margie Willcock. She was mean, rich, snobby, and she was James' girlfriend. James wasn't at all fond of her anymore. She had been quite rude to James that summer when he visited her at her mansion. Lily looked inside the compartment and of course sitting there, none other than Margie and her friend Valeree Bucts, talking. Lily decided to listen in.

"Have you seen Evan's? She is totally trying to get my little boy wrapped around her finger." Margie told Valeree.

"We should do something about it," replied Valeree, "maybe we could get James to hate her."

"Totally, she's just a stupid mudblood." said Margie with a sneer.

Hearing this, Lily felt really bad. James was listening too. He saw Lily's face, full of hurt. Suddenly, he grabbed the Dungbomb, and slid open the compartment door holding the Dungbomb looking like he was ready to kill. Margie started screamed and Remus snorted.

"Oh, Jamesie-dear!" cried Margie then Sirius snorted, Lily smiled weakly. " It's only you. I was just telling Valeree that-," James cut her off.

"That you're mean, rude, stupid, and that we're through? I was just about to remind you!" James yelled.

"Why, James! I-I-,"

"Do you want me to like you? Well, then change the way you act to my best friends!" said James then threw the Dungbomb into the compartment door, slammed it shut and ran.

Sirius, and Remus, who was supporting Lily because she didn't exactly have running shoes on, followed him.

Then, first there was a squeal, after a scream and they heard Margie yelling, Lily laughed out loud.

They didn't stop running until they got to their compartment. Finally, when they were settled, they all high-fived each other and talked about how funny it was when she screamed. After about, a half an hour later, Remus and Sirius went to the bathroom, while Lily and James sat there alone. Lily looked out the window, and James twiddled his fingers.

Finally, Lily spoke, "Uh, James?"

"Yes?" he replied.

"Well, thanks for sticking up for me back there. It was real sweet." Lily muttered and turned a light shade of red.

"No problem, that's what friends do, right?" James grinned.

Meanwhile...

"Oi'! You just cut in front of me!" Remus pushed Sirius's head into the water fountain slightly, making water go in his ear. Remus elbowed Sirius in the stomach, and then stood up.

"And you just cut the cheese!" Sirius said. Plugging his nose.

"No I didn't! He who smelt it dealt it!"

"Ah, but he who made up the rhyme, commit the crime!" Sirius was pointing his finger up, as if he was Einstein. Sirius then looked around.

"Seriously. It smells really bad. It smells like-,"

A scream came from down the hallway, "PROFESSOR! LOOK WHAT THOSE AWFUL BOYS DID TO MY BRAND NEW PETTICOAT!"

Remus and Sirius looked at each other, and started run down the hallway, rushing to get to their compartment. They had to tell James and Lily. When they slid the compartment door open, they fell onto the seats, panting after the run. James and Lily looked at them with the most confusion.

"What happened?" Lily asked. They spoke in and out of each breath.

"Margie." Remus panted.

"Teacher." said Sirius with an expression of fear on his face.

Then together they said, "Dungbombs."

"Us." James widened his eyes, "Uh-oh."

"Great." Lily threw her hands up in the air. "Now what do we do?"

Then, they heard teachers walking towards their compartment.

"Alden, think logically. They wouldn't do that!"

"Minerva, of COURSE they did it! I know these children!"

"Well, excuse me! They just happened to be in my House! Remember?"

"Oh shoot!" James whispered. "Quick! Sleeping position!"

Remus laid down on the floor with his cloak stuffed under his head, Sirius laid down on the seat opposite Lily and James, who were in a very weird position. They realized that the compartment either shrank, or they grew. James laid down with his head on Lily's lap. He noticed that Lily smelled very nice. They got settled right when the teacher's opened the door.

"See? I told you they didn't do anything." Professor McGonagall whispered, "They're sleeping! Now, come on! We don't want to wake them up!"

Professor Jones did not move but said, "They're faking it! I know it! They're evil 6th years I tell you... Evil!" And he slammed the door shut, right next to Remus' ear.

Remus opened his eyes and said, "Ouch."

James slowly opened his eyes to see what happened. He was looking straight at Lily, who was staring right back at him. She has beautiful eyes. James thought.

He has a cute smile. Lily thought.

Suddenly, James sat up right and blushed. No, she's just Lily. The girl I've known since I was 6. My best friend, who just happens to be the smartest, coolest, and most beautiful girl in school. James thought about what he had just thought. Oh, no. I think I like her.

Lily blushed, too. No, he's James. The most nicest, smartest, cutest, best friend in the world. Lily closed her eyes. Oh, no. I think I like him.

"So, what do you want to do?" Remus asked. They still had a long way to go before they reached Hogwarts.

"Um...let's plan." Sirius had an evil grin on his face.

Lily laughed, "Sirius, you look so stupid when you do that."

Sirius put on a charming smile then suddenly gave and exaggerated frown, "Why thank you! You're nice, too!"

"Come on, I was just joking!" Lily said then stood up and sat next to Sirius. "You will always be the one I can count on to make fun of!" after saying that she hugged him. Sirius smiled and moved his eyebrows up and down, where Lily couldn't see him.

"So," James said, trying to get back on subject. "Let's look at our faithful map shall we?"

"James, I thought it only works inside Hogwarts!" Lily said.

"That's what you think!" he said as he opened the Marauder's Map to reveal Hogwarts in all.

"Oh, Cool, there's Dumbledore!" Sirius pointed at the little dot.

Remus sighed, "We had good times with this map didn't we? I mean, we saved Lily from Severus,"

"Prat." Lily put on an angry looking face.

"I know, but we must remember, we're better than him." Sirius said with an odd expression and looked around.

The group then gawked at him.

"Uh, yea. We know. Why are you reminding us?" Remus asked.

"Never mind." Sirius sighed.

"As I was saying, we stopped Jonest from becoming Headmaster,"

"How'd we do that?" Lily questioned.

"Remember? In our second year? As I quote," James went into a deep voice, "There isn't anything you can do about it you little brats. I will rule this school and rid it of all of you! Mwah ha ha h-'". Lily stared at James as if he was mad, who was pointing at her. After he saw her he quickly put his finger down.

"Sorry. I was just imitating Jonest. You still don't remember?"

"Oh I remember. It's just-well- never mind." Lily said flatly.

"You know, we could go put some more Dungbombs in the Compartments. I have some left." Remus said, trying to think of something to do. Lily, James, and Sirius glared at him.

"Alright, alright. I will put them away." Remus sighed slowly as he put the Dungbombs pack into his pocket.

For the rest of the train ride, they mostly slept. For some peculiar reason, they went into the exact same position as before.

"James! Lily!" James slowly opened his eyes. Sirius and Remus were staring at their odd position. James then looked at Lily; she was slowly waking up.

"The train stopped. Everyone's loading off." Sirius reminded them. He headed for the door, and then turned around.

"You know, you guys would make a good couple. Untidy black hair and Emerald green eyes really match!"

Sirius laughed at his remark. Remus hit him on the shoulder, laughing, too. Lily and James scowled.

"It's true!" Remus chuckled.

Then Lily stood up and hit him on the back of the head.

"Shut up. I wouldn't be talking if you still want Geneva to like you. I could tell her bad things about you. I know many secrets..." said Lily looking amused.

Remus closed his mouth and blushed as Sirius laughed.

"You too, Sirius. I could tell Adrienna that you dyed your black hair, and that you think she's smells bad." Lily said.

James started to laugh quietly. Lily turned around and looked at him and said, "Don't even test me James, I know too much." Lily grinned devilishly.

As they walked out of the train, and gathered their things, they noticed how everyone was staring at them, especially at the girl in the middle of the tall, muscular, and handsome group of boys. Sirius started waving again. James rolled his eyes.

"Really," Lily whispered to James. "Hasn't he got over himself yet?" James smiled and shook his head.

"Hey, don't think I didn't hear you miss loud mouth. I wouldn't be talking!" Sirius said at the side of his mouth, and still looked forward and waved.

Lily looked at him, and stepped on his foot. It was an odd scene. Sirius was waving, and then he was sort of limping, and smiling, yet frowning at the same time.

"Ouch, that hurt." whimpered Sirius.

Remus looked over James' shoulder. James looked at Lily. She was sort of laughing, and trying to hold it in. She looked very pretty, in her Hogwarts Robe. The maroon and gold really matched her hair. Lily caught him staring.

"What are you looking at?" Lily asked playfully. James snapped back into focus.

"Well, you changed, a lot, over the summer. I think you grew. Or maybe it's the way your green eyes sparkle, or maybe it's the way your hair's on fire! Blimey! Here's a hose! Quick!" James joked, as he got into the carriage. Lily blushed then she looked at James.

"I think you changed, too. I think you guys all changed. Your much taller and more muscular." The boys smiled. "But, no, I don't think your brain changed, I think it shrunk!"

James pretended to cry and said, "Why thank you for that comforting compliment. Now, I know that I stink!"

Since her parents died from an attack of Voldemort she had grown very close to her friends. Lily laughed. She then realized how happy she was to be back with the people she loved most.
