Author's Note:
Ah, FoRgEy, you are still the best! Thank you!

"Mother, I don't want to wear these robes! It gets too hot!" I complained.

It was another fancy ball and I didn't want to go. We had our portrait taken earlier and I didn't want to be wearing the same robes for the rest of the night. My mother, Narcissa, looked as if she were about to get mad, but she quickly started smiling at me.

"Darling, your father is having a ball tonight, and all the top Slytherin and Ravenclaw families will be there. The most respected Malfoys, including us, will be there. You do want to look handsome, don't you?"

"I thought you said I looked handsome all the time."

"Yes, but we must make a good impression on our guests. We don't want to be looking nor dressing like a Mudblood, now do we?"

"No, mother."

I sulked as she watched the house elves tie my black and green robes tighter and slicked back my platinum blonde hair. When my mother and I were finally done getting ready, many guests had already arrived.

She brought me to the ballroom. It was filled with eerie, classical music played by the ghosts and entries of food were served on a long white table. Most of the witches and wizards I saw, I either recognized from Slytherin or Ravenclaw. There were many different families, but most of them were from the Malfoy family or the Chang family.

You could tell because of the hair. While the Malfoys had platinum blonde hair, the Changs all had jet-black hair. The rest of the guests were part of the Flint, Parkinson, Crabbe, and Goyle families. They had either brown or dirty blonde hair.

No redheads, no Weasleys. My mother had instantly started chatting with a few other witches; some of them who were related to us.

"This is our son, Draco!" mother squealed proudly as I strutted over to them.

"I bet he'll be a good Deatheater like his father, eh?" my Uncle Narcissus, who was my mother's brother, asked.

"We think so." I suppose my mother did enjoy showing me off, but I didn't like it. I kept tugging at her black dress, whining that the party was taking too long. She finally set me at the bottom of the staircase.

"Draco, why don't you go play with your cousin Thomas?"

I wasn't too fond of him. We were the same age, but he acted as if he were so much older than me. At parties, he tended to play and make mischief with the older boys, led by Marcus Flint. I was somewhat of a loner at my own parties. The girl from the Parkinson family, Pansy, would follow me endlessly around the house. I finally suggested we play hide and go seek; I would seek and she would hide.

Of course, I never did any "seeking" for her. But this dinner party was going to be different...There was a loud knock at the door and a house elf went to go get it.

I watched curiously from the staircase, wondering who it would be. All I saw was a gloved hand, a golden cane, and the elf scurried away, fetching my father and mother.

"Dobby, this better be good-" my father started as Dobby pushed him and my mother to the door.

He instantly stopped talking when he saw who it was. He straightened his back and shook the gloved hand.

"Draco!" he boomed, "Come here and meet the Changs!"

"But there are a bunch of other Chang wizarding families already in the ballroom!" I whined.

"Just come here, boy."

Another Chinese family came into the large doors of our mansion. But this family had three daughters, and two of them certainly didn't catch my eye.

There was a tall, broad-shouldered man. Just like my father, he had a cane, only his had a dragon instead of a serpent.

The lady was slim, beautiful, pale, and had bouncy black hair. She sort of resembled my mother in their facial expressions.

My father cleared his throat.

"This is Bruce Chang; he works alongside with me in the Ministry. And his lovely wife; Scarlett."

"Don't forget his children," my mother quickly added.

"I was getting there Narcissa... and his children, Elizabeth, Charlotte and Ingrid. They're in Slytherin, I presume?"

"Charlotte and Ingrid still have one or two years to go, but Elizabeth is in Ravenclaw," Mr. Chang said.

"Ravenclaw? It'll do."

I didn't know what they meant by Ravenclaw would do because usually, Slytherin is the preferred house. I pouted and watched as Elizabeth gloated over the attention she was getting.

Well, Elizabeth was about Marcus Flint's age and she was beautiful. Her black, coarse hair was cut at her shoulder blades but she had a bitchy face.

Ingrid was short and her black hair was turning a dark brown. Her hair was just the curliest and frizziest thing I had ever seen.

And finally, Charlotte. She wasn't as beautiful as Elizabeth or her mother, but she had a creepy, haunting way of looking at you. She had black, straight hair and it was cut just at her shoulders. She had a sort large, paranoid, hypnotic eyes that were so black, they almost looked violet. She wore black and pink robes.

"Is Charlotte Draco's age?" my mother asked, grasping my shoulder.

"She's nine," Mrs. Chang answered at once.

"Same with Draco."

Both our fathers rolled their eyes as our mothers starting giggling as how we could be "friends".

I was nothing but appalled at the mere suggestion of it.

Our mothers shooed the kids away and to "do something fun".

Elizabeth automatically started to talk to Marcus Flint and the older boys, flirting and flipping her black mane.

Ingrid went God-knows-where.

I didn't know what to do with Charlotte. My mother wanted me to be a gentleman and get to know her.

"But don't you dare go near the China!" my mother yelled after us as I tried to lead Charlotte away.

"Want to play hide and go seek?" I asked after three minutes of silence.

"That's a muggle's game," Charlotte replied at once.. "And besides, I know that trick. When I go to hide, you won't seek. Quite an awful thing to do, really."

I pouted, knowing that she had seen through my trick.

"Then what do you want to do?"

"Don't ask me!" Just then, Marcus Flint and his gang, that now had Elizabeth in it, came over to us with their large bodies over-shadowing us.

Thomas was a midget compared to all of them, and he had his arms folded across his chest and he was smirking like crazy. But when he saw Charlotte, his expression changed into a small grin.

"Why, if it isn't the little Malfoy boy!" laughed Marcus, slapping me upside the head. I slicked my hair back down and continued to calmly gaze at them.

"What do you want now?"

"What do you mean, what do I want now? Can't a fellow just come over to a Malfoy without being asked why?"

I shrugged. Marcus jeered and continued. "Well, did you hear 'bout our new game?"

"What new game?" I asked curiously.

Charlotte looked just as curious until Elizabeth started talking.

"It's called," said Elizabeth, taking Charlotte by the collar "locking--"

"Ah, shut up Elizabeth, you prat," snapped Charlotte, attempting to pry herself from her older sister's grasp.

Elizabeth narrowed her eyes and smoothed down here hair. Charlotte turned her back and walked away. I tried to follow her, when suddenly; I felt a sharp push from behind me. I saw Charlotte get shoved as well. Before we knew it, we were locked in the closet.

"Hey, let me out!" I yelled, pounding on the door. All I heard was the laughter of the older kids.

Then there was the click of the lock and nothing more.

Author notes: Okay, I'm trying my best here not to make little Charlotte into a Mary Sue. I'm trying! So, click on the Review button and I won't make her into one of those nasty buggers! FoRgEy, once again, thank you!
