Harry and Ana sat looking at James Michael. They couldn't believe how beautiful he was, and how much he looked like his father. So many experiences, which now were fond memories, had led up to this wonderful treasure.
It all started in Harry's seventh year at Hogwarts....
Chapter One: Analise Baxter
"Oi, mate!" Ron Weasley ran up behind a rather tall stranger at King's Cross Station. "Sorry to bother you sir, but you haven't seen a boy about my height, green eyes, messy brown hair, glasses, and a famous scar, have you?"
Unfortunately for Ron, his best friend had grown a lot since he last saw him. With trademark glasses gone, at least six inches added to his height, not to mention the fact that he was tan from a holiday in Spain, most people wouldn't have recognized The Boy Who Lived. And 'most people' included Ron.
"Ron, It's me, Harry," he said, almost doubling up in laughter at the look on his best friend's face. Ron looked like a cross between embarrassment and astonishment. Either way, he was bright red.
"No way! It's really you?"
"Yes, it's really me. Who'd you think it was? Malfoy?"
"Nah, it's just...boy you must have grown a foot!"
"Where is Hermione?" Harry cut in, changing the subject away from his obvious growth spurt. It was making him feel uncomfortable. "You two were joined at the hip when you got off the train last year."
"She's around here somewhere. We were just talking and then she ran off to see the new exchange student from America."
"What exchange stu..." Harry was interrupted by the arrival of Hermione, who seemed to have made a friend.
"Hi all!" Hermione said walking up to them with a very attractive girl, which Harry and Ron assumed was the exchange student.
"Who's this 'Mione?" Ron asked staring at the girl as he stuffed his mouth with a Chocolate Frog.
" Oh, sorry for not introducing you," Hermione turned to the girl and smiled sheepishly. "This is Analise Baxter. She is from Los Angeles, California."
The girl stood there looking at the ground bashfully. She had long, shoulder-length, dark brown hair with bright blonde highlights. She was clothed in the popular American style of short denim shorts and a bright purple peasant shirt. You could tell she was not from around here by the lack of clothing she wore in the cool, English weather.
"Hey, nice to meet you Analise. I'm Harry Potter," Harry extending his hand towards Analise. She took it and shook his hand warmly.
"Hi! It's nice to meet you too. You can call me Ana. Analise is so formal." She smiled at the handsome boy, causing him to blush some.
" Hi, I'm Ron." He said, also extending his hand. However, it was soon pushed away by a nasty little bugger.
"And I'm Draco Malfoy, the only person at this school that is worth your time," said the blonde Slytherin with what he perceived as a sexy grin.
Hermione told Ana that Draco was big trouble while she was telling her about everything at Hogwarts. Ana thought that there was probably only one boy named Draco. She didn't want to be mean but she knew he wasn't good news so she just acted cool.
"I'm sure that's entirely up to my judgement. Now if you would be so kind as to step off my bag, me and my friends here need to board the train," Ana said motioning the group to follow her to the train door, leaving behind a rather red faced Malfoy.
"Smooth, Ana!" Harry congratulated her.
"Thanks," Ana said with a victorious grin.
"Let's go find somewhere to sit," Ron said, finally unclenching his fist and still glaring at Malfoy.
The ride seemed to go really fast. As soon as they changed into their robes, the group conversed. Ana began to get most aquatinted with Mr. Potter. When they arrived at the castle, Ana met Hagrid and instantly loved him as much as the trio did. Then, they went their separate ways; Ana in the first years' boats, Ron, Harry, and Hermione in the carriages. When everyone was situated inside Hogwarts, the Sorting began. Since Ana was an exchange student she had the 'honor' of going last.
"God, it's been bloody forever!" stated Harry looking like he was going to pass out from pure impatience.
Then, finally, Zen, Christine was Sorted into Ravenclaw. Dumbledore stood up and gave a few announcements about the Forbidden Forest and the new items that Filch would have an aneurysm if he caught you with them in the hallways (the list now reached a record high of 1004 items). Then, he announced that a dance was to be held in November so the students who wanted to go home for the Christmas holiday wouldn't have to miss the dance. Ana wondered when she was going to be Sorted as she was starting to feel uncomfortable with all eyes on her just standing there in the middle of the Great Hall. Dumbledore continued to say that the real Mad-Eye Moody was going to teach DADA and Oliver Wood was going to teach an Advanced Flying Class (AFL) reserved for seventh years. Ana thought Oliver was quite attractive when he stood up and waved to his students and it showed on her face. Finally, Dumbledore remembered Ana.
"We have an exchange student here for the first time in several decades. This is Analise Baxter, from Los Angeles, California," he gestured towards the girl, who just smiled and waved at everyone weakly. "She is a seventh year and attended Ronishion School of Witchcraft. Now, without further adieu, she will be Sorted."
"Finally," muttered Ana as she walked up nervously to the stool and sat down. Then Professor McGonagall put the Sorting Hat on her head.
"Difficult mmm...You could be in any house, you know. But where to put you is the question. You'd be good in Slytherin, the ambition is here...however, your heart's too pure and brave for Slytherin... I know GRYFFINDOR." The Hat said proudly.
The Gryffindors cheered. Ana went and sat down at the Gryffindor table next to the trio, Seamus, and Neville. Hermione talked to her and told her that since she was a head girl, she could show Ana around. Then, they went to the Common Room and met up with Ron and Harry who were deep in conversation.
"So, what's your schedule Ana?" Harry asked, looking up as the two girls walked towards them.
" I have Potions, then Charms, Astronomy, Transfiguration, Herbology, DADA, Care of Magical Creatures, then AFL. You?"
"Same!" exclaimed Harry, immensely happy all of a sudden.
"Wicked!" Ron cut in, "Me and 'Mione also have the same!" he grinned and placed his arm around Hermione. They finally had the brains to hook up.
"Wish I had a girlfriend." sighed Harry, voicing his thoughts as he looked at the happy couple.
"Wish I had a boyfriend," Ana said, carrying the same disappointment. "Looks like were both on the same boat: The SS Lonely and Deprived."
"Damn straight," Harry said with a grin, making Ana laugh hysterically.
"It's time for bed, for those on the SS Love Bird's information!" Ana said. "We on the SS Lonely and Deprived say its half past eleven."
"My gracious, see you in the morning Ron!" Hermione quickly pecked Ron on the cheek and grabbed Ana, pulling her upstairs.
"Bye Harry! Sweet dreams!" Ana called before her arm felt like it came out of the socket.
"You too!"
