- Might just be another Voldemort's- daughter fic, but I had fun writing it and I hope you'll have fun reading it.
Harry Potter was very bored. Yes, Harry Potter was very bored indeed. He slumped lower, if possible, in his chair as he pondered the events of late and tried to figure out what Snape was rattling on about through a throbbing headache. Lately he had a headache a lot, as another showdown with Voldemort was just about due.
The Ministry of Magic, however, had completely lost control. Death Eaters were running rampant, and no one in Voldemort's ranks was now afraid to show it. Dark Marks were constantly displayed among elders. Malfoy was heard whining that his dad was adamant about not letting him take the Mark until he was seventeen, but no one really cared. No one was afraid to be a Death Eater because there was virtually no punishment for it anymore. The dementors had deserted Azkaban and were teaming up with Voldemort, kissing people here and there. It looked like the saving of the wizarding world was going to depend mostly on the Order, and one Harry Potter in particular.
"Alright class, pair up and prepare the....hrmph," finished Snape, his eyes on the door.
The whole class turned around to see what he was looking at, and their eyes widened.
A girl swept into the room, looking arrogantly at Snape, nodding at Malfoy. Harry figured she must be someone important, because Snape wasn't yelling, but when her vibrant green eyes passed over him and narrowed in contempt, Harry felt his stomach drop.
Harry didn't recognize her, but she looked to be roughly his age. She wore black heels and long, blood-red robes. All but a bit of her long, chocolate brown hair was pulled back by a black hairpiece studded with rubies, the rest cascaded down her back in natural curls. The color of her lips matched her robes perfectly, and when she smiled at Blaise Zabini, perfectly straight and dazzlingly white teeth were revealed. Piercing green eyes with long, dark lashes fit perfectly under sculpted eyebrows. Harry felt his breath catch.
She walked calmly up to Professor Snape, held a whispered conversation with him, (he looked murderous) he calmly nodded. She walked behind his desk, and, much to Harry's amusement, sat in his chair and put her beautiful heeled feet on his desk.
"Potter! Are you prepared to make Paternus Potion?"
"Uh, I, er, yes, I think so, sir," Harry stumbled. In fact, he didn't even know what the Paternus Potion was. He expertly deduced that it must be the potion Snape had been talking about for half an hour before that girl came.
"Are you going to be working with us today, Miss Riddle, or are you just going to relax in my desk?" Snape turned to the girl smirking from his chair.
"No, I need to talk with Mister Malfoy, so neither of us will be working with you, Sevvie," she laughed derisively, "are you going to introduce me to everyone else?"
Snape looked like he wanted to Avada- Kedavra- her into next week, but he sighed resignedly, "Class, this is Miss Riddle, a new sixth year student with you all. Miss Riddle, what exactly is your full name?"
Miss Riddle stood up delicately and stuck her nose in the air. "Eronlexi Aluxandra Anastasia Charlotta Eowym Bellatrix Genevra Levitra Lestrange Riddle."
"That's quite a mouthful, Miss Riddle, shall we call you Eronlexi or Aluxandra?"
"Lexie will do, Sevvie."
Many eyes widened throughout the class, amazed that a student could get away with calling Snape "Sevvie." Harry, however, was racking his brain, trying to think where he'd heard some of those names before. Riddle was obvious, she must be somewhere related to Tom Riddle, aka Voldemort. Eh, he thought, maybe it's just a coincidence. Not a common last name, though. He shrugged it off. Lestrange....Bellatrix! Bellatrix Lestrange was the Death Eater who killed Sirius! Now, Harry could accept that the surname Riddle was a coincidence, but not that combined with Bellatrix and Lestrange.
He was snapped back to reality when Snape thundered, "Potter, did you hear me or not? I said work with Zabini!" Harry rolled his eyes. Oh, great, he got to work with Mr. Italian Stallion himself. Blaise sauntered over and set down his cauldron next to Harry's.
"Do you know her?" Harry asked, nodding at Lexie, who was talking with Malfoy in hushed tones.
"Yeah. She's the only one under seventeen that You- Know- Who lets into the major Death Eater meetings. Malfoy and I always try to get in, but they treat her like a queen." Blaise said loudly.
Just as he finished, Lexie and Malfoy stood up, walked to Snape's desk, nodded to him, and walked out. He did nothing. Harry thought about this for a long while, and got a sharp reprimand and a detention from Snape because his Paternus Potion was green and not pink.
Harry wondered if it would ruin his reputation as the savior of the wizarding world if he married a Death Eater.
