Love Bound in Green Velvet 2: Draco's Surprise

Draco woke up screaming and covered in sweat .

"Draco, love, are you alright?" came a voice to his right. Draco looked wide eyed at the woman next to him on the bed.

"Laura? Is it really you?" he reached out and touched her cheek.

"Of course it's me Draco," she smiled. "Bad dream?"

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you," he smiled and reached out and pulled his wife to his lips. Draco suddenly remembered the last part of his dream.

"Laura?" he asked.

"Yes sweetie?"

"Are you pregnant?"

~~~~~
Laura looked at Draco in shock, how does he know? She looked into his eyes and prepared to answer. Laura really wanted to tell him over dinner that night but somehow he knew.
"Draco, did you find something in the study?" Laura asked guessing that he snooped around and found the doctors' note under the red teddy bear.
"No actually, why?"
"Was it in your dream?"
"Was what in my dream?" he asked.
"A slip of paper that said I was pregnant?" Laura asked scooting closer.
"Yeah, is it true?" Draco asked not hiding the hope in his voice.
Laura stood and walked to the window with a sigh. She was smiling but didn't want Draco to see it yet. Draco on the other hand wanted to know so desperately, he really wanted to have a baby. Laura felt the tears coming on so she turned around to face her husband.
"Laura? Baby are you ok?" Draco got off the bed.
"I'm perfectly fine, but when I say this I don't know how I'll be," Laura sighed holding back her smile.
"Say what?" Draco asked.
"What does the word Father mean to you?" Laura smiled.
"You are? You're telling me I'm going to be a father?" Draco yelled in excitement.
"Yes and yes."
"I Love you so much!" Draco grabbed Laura and picked her up. He spun her around laughing, feeling the tears of joy from the woman he loved so dear hit his bare shoulder. When he put Laura back down on her feet, he gave her the sweetest kiss known to mankind.
"Get back in that bed, now," he smiled pushing her over to their mattress.
"What another one already?" Laura laughed.
"No, I'm cooking you breakfast, then you can have me for brunch," Draco said flashing his sexiest smile. Laura giggled and lay down as Draco went downstairs to make some food. I can't believe I'm going to be a father! Draco kept thinking to himself over and over as he finished breakfast.
"Draco! Hurry, I'm starving!" Laura yelled from upstairs. Draco smiled at her voice, he loved her so much. On his way upstairs he stopped in the study and looked up at the red bear. I wonder if the note is still there, he thought. Draco set the tray on his desk and reached for the bear. He gasped, it was there and sure enough the same words were scribbled onto it. Draco put back the paper and went to pick up the tray. He stopped when something on his desk caught his eye. Laura's green velvet journal was sitting in the exact same spot where he left it in his dream.
"Draco?" came Laura's voice from the doorway. He looked over to see her wearing his pajama shirt.
"Draco, you alright?" she asked and walked over to him.
"Did you put this journal here?" he asked quietly.
"No, where did you get it?" Laura asked, picking it up and flipping through it. Draco couldn't answer, something very strange was going on and he wasn't sure what it was. His thoughts were interrupted by his eagle owl tapping it's beak on the window.
"Majesty? what are you doing here?" Laura smiled and opened the window. The bird swooped down onto the desk and dropped a letter addressed to Laura. Draco was still sorting out his thoughts when Laura put down the letter and got his attention.
"Did you want to eat in here? I'm hungry and I want brunch," she laughed. Draco let a smile cross his lips as they sat down. While they ate, Draco reached out for the letter. It was from his father, why is he writing to just Laura? As he read, he understood why he had that dream. Draco was supposed to prevent Laura from going near his father!
"Laura, were you planning to go see my father?" Draco asked.
"Yes, he wanted to talk about the funding for my Wedding planner business, why do you ask?" she said with a mouthful of eggs.
"You cannot go," Draco said firmly.
"Why not?" Laura asked getting serious.
"I said so."
"Draco, that's not a reason," Laura giggled. "Why don't you want me to go?"
Draco paused before telling her what he was about to say. "I don't want you to die."
"What?" Laura shrieked letting her fork hit the plate. Draco put his face into his hands and feared what might happen if he told her about his dream. She needs to know, he told himself. Draco went into full detail about his dream, watching Laura's eyes grow wider. He rubbed his forehead when he was finished and looked at her.
"What?" Draco asked.
"Draco, I love you," Laura sighed.
"So you won't go to my dad?"
"No," she smiled as she reached out to touch his cheek. He sighed in relief as he pulled her into a hug. She wasn't going to die tonight, tomorrow and not the next day.
"Think we can get through these next nine months?" Laura asked with a smile.
"Of course we can, we're Malfoys," Draco joked as he kissed her.
"I hate it when you do that," Laura said with a smile.
"What? Kiss you?" he smiled.
"Yes, it makes me agree to almost anything," Laura growled.
"Really?" Draco asked with a hint of seduction in his voice.
Laura simply nodded and let Draco pick her up and carry her to their room.
"That's does it, I'm calling in sick for work today," Draco laughed and drowned himself into his wife with no worries in the world.
