Chapter 8: A Lesson in Predictability

"Shut up!" Jenna whined. She had been awoken by a loud noise. She had no idea where it was coming from. She was half asleep so she just yelled her annoyance out loud hoping the source of the noise would be quiet. She had only gone to sleep a half an hour ago, maybe less. She heard another clatter and more voices and realized she was never going to get back to sleep
until she shut these people up. She started to pull her eyelids open. Her vision was blurry and it was dark. She rubbed her eyes violently and searched the dorm. Everything seemed peaceful there. All the girls were in bed. But she still heard noise.

It seemed to be originating from behind the wall that her bed was up against. Jenna put her ear close to the wall and listened. Yep, there were definitely stirrings from the other side. She wasn't quite sure what was on the other side. Her theory was that it was the 5th year boys' dorm. It made sense to have the 5th year boys and 5th year girls' dorms on the same floor.

Now that she was awake, she decided to go investigate. And once she found the person making the noise she would kick their ass. She hoped that it was Harry.

Jenna made her way across the room silently. She was polite enough not to make noise and wake people up, unlike some people. She climbed down the stairs and peered out into the common room. There were several people down there chatting nervously. Why are they awake at this hour? Did that asshole wake them too? I'll kill him. She finished her climb downstairs and noticed most of the people in the room were the 5th year boys. Among them were a few other confused-looking students who Jenna didn't know?

Jenna spotted Harry in the crowd. He looked extremely upset. He was talking to Ron rapidly, who looked disturbed. Neville was cowering behind them, looking around nervously with wand in hand, which was shaking. Then Jenna saw Professor McGonagall and Professor Dumbledore coming down from the 5th year boys' dorm discussing something intently.

Not knowing what else to do, Jenna walked over Harry and Ron. "What the hell is going on?" she asked fiercely. They both turned to her and stared. At first she thought they weren't going to tell her so she began to walk away. But then Harry spoke.

"It's Seamus. Something's happened to him," Harry said gravely.

"What?" Jenna became slightly concerned herself.

"We don't know for sure. All the teachers will tell us is that he's not going to die or anything, but his powers are gone and he will be ...different."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"No clue. Professor Dumbledore said something about his identity had been taken away...his personality was sucked out. I don't really get it. Wait!" Harry suddenly seemed excited like he had a lead or something. He turned to Ron. "My dream! The guy in my dream! It grabbed my face like it was gonna suck something out of me! Maybe that's what did this to Seamus!"

Ron answered enthusiastically, "Yeah! You're probably right! But ... we don't know what it was. We should go tell Dumbledore. He'll know!" Harry nodded and they ran off, forgetting that Jenna was still standing there.

But she barely noticed they were gone. She was shivering from the memory of the monster. It did look like it wanted to suck something out of her. And now Jenna knew for sure that her and Harry had the same dream. What Jenna didn't know was why her and Harry were having the same dream or why she had it at all. Was it a premonition? Jenna still wasn't sure how all this magic crap worked. For a second she thought about telling Harry about the dream, but quickly dismissed the idea. She couldn't let Harry know she was in any way involved. He might suspect that she knew something about it before hand. He probably wouldn't believe her anyway. Why should he? He had no reason to trust her.

Jenna now saw that the common room was filling up with the rest of the Gryffindors as the teachers were checking to make sure the other students were okay. Hermione was stumbling down the staircase sleepily. Her eyes searched the room for Harry and Ron Jenna guessed, but they had left to talk to Dumbledore. Hermione then spotted Jenna. She hesitated for a second before venturing forward. "Um... what's going on? Where are Harry and Ron?"

"I don't know! Why are you talking to me!?!" Jenna never knew how to react to Hermione. Jenna thought she should probably inform Hermione on this evening's events since something dangerous was lurking in the school, but Hermione walked away before Jenna could speak up. Jenna sighed feeling slightly guilty. Jenna didn't know why she always had to be so mean to everyone. It just came out of her. It's not like she really hated all the people here, just some. Like Draco. Ahh, now there's someone I can torment without feeling bad. Jenna hoped that he was awake and wandering the halls again. She needed to vent some anger and Draco was the best one to do it on.

Of course, there was a small problem: she was seriously attracted to Draco now. And she could NOT let him know that. If she did, he would have the power then and she wasn't going to let that happen. No way.

Jenna exited the common room, anyway, not able to take the nervous chatter. She felt like her brain was about to explode. Too many thoughts and too many voices. Lots of confusion. Once outside, the throbbing in her head subsided a little.

Now, where to look for Draco? She knew if he could get away, he'd want to be alone. The song was bound to still be playing and she was sure he couldn't take anymore teasing. She knew exactly where he was; he was too predictable. Jenna was then struck with an idea and ran off excitedly.

* * *

I HATE THIS SONG! Draco was sitting alone in the History of Magic class. Draco knew he'd be left alone here. Professor Binns was the only one to use the room and he was only in there until the end of classes. Then like clockwork, the only ghost teacher in Hogwarts would disappear through the wall. He was so boring and predictable and at the moment Draco was grateful for that. He had to get away from people. The stupid "Never Gonna Get It" song was still playing and the insults were still coming. Draco couldn't take it anymore. He really hated Jenna now. Well, okay, no he didn't, but he was really, really, really mad at her! Ughh, why does this girl have this affect on me? Draco didn't think he'd ever get the answer to that question though.

Draco's boredom was becoming overwhelming and his thoughts were worse. He was thinking about returning to Slytherin Tower when he heard a sound off to the right. It was quiet, barely worth the turning of Draco's head, but he looked anyway. Nothing. Draco was almost disappointed. Anything would be more interesting than sitting by himself in the classroom. Well, anything except getting made fun of by his "friends".

Draco decided he just go back to the tower and sleep if he could. It was already late and he had to get up early tomorrow for breakfast, which he was actually considering skipping to avoid humiliation. He sighed while climbing out of the chair and then headed towards the door. Another noise sounded out and he stopped. Draco spun around quickly and again he found himself alone. Draco let out an aggravated moan and began to turn forward.

When he did he almost screamed. Someone was standing in front of him in the doorway, leaning casually against the frame. Draco took a few steps back, still unable to see his mystery guest. He stood rigid afraid to move. The figure was just watching him silently as if contemplating how to attack. Then it shifted position and began to move towards him. Draco started to retreat
further into the room as the figure neared. Then it stepped into a flood of light from the window and was unmasked.

Jenna stood before him in her pajamas, black sweat pants and a white spaghetti strap tank, smiling wickedly. She looked mischievous as usual. She seemed pleased as punch that she had scared him to death. She stood coolly and said, "My dear Malfoy, what are you doing up so late? Don't you know it's dangerous to wander the school alone at night?"

He had regained his composure and crossed his arms before responding. "If it's so dangerous, why are you out and about?"

Jenna lowered her voice to a whisper/ "Because I'm superwoman." Then she laughed heartily. "Plus I had to come warn you."

Draco narrowed his eyes. "About what?"

"Oh nothing much. Just an identity-sucking beast that's loose in the school. No big deal," she replied nonchalantly.

"What are you talking about? Cause I'm in no mood for your tricks."

"Oh I'm far from joking. Poor little Seamus was the first victim. The famous Harry Potter found him. There's quite a raucous in our tower."

"Really? Well, that's a new development. Could be interesting, " Draco answered, intrigued.

"Yep, it has possibilities. He's not dead though, just weird or something. Don't really understand it," she said with ease. She seemed unruffled by the nights events and Draco admired that.

"And you came to rescue me since I was all alone in the big bad castle?" Draco smirked at her.

"Of course. I knew you wouldn't be able to defend yourself against a monster if you couldn't even stand up to me, " she teased.

"I remember getting in at least one powerful blow," he said referring to the kiss. She shook her head as if amused.

"You think that affected me at all? Sure, I was a little ticked at the moment, but trust me I'm quiet recovered while you are still getting burned by me," Jenna said. She then began to sing along with the song that still surrounded Draco. She did a little dance to mock him and then let out a short laugh. Draco became slightly miffed.

"How much longer is this damn thing going to last? Because I'm getting pretty bloody pissed" Jenna lips curled devilishly. She didn't respond. Instead she walked over to the chair behind Professor Binns' desk and took a seat. She pulled her wand out of one pocket and toyed with it between her hands. Draco followed her every move with his eyes. He wasn't about to let her put another spell on him. Jenna just stared at her wand as she spoke.

"Yeah I guess you have had enough. It's starting to get boring anyway." He crinkled his eyes in confusion. Then she raised her wand and he instantly was frightened. Not another spell! Her lips moved rapidly as she flicked her wrist before Draco could do anything. He recoiled as if about to be punched. But nothing happened. In fact everything was silent. At first Draco thought Jenna made him deaf, but when he cried out and heard himself he realized he was fine. Jenna was laughing at him.

"You stopped the song!" She said nothing, just smirked. "You said you couldn't stop it! You told me it had to run its course!" Draco was becoming very angry.

"Of course I can remove it you idiot. It's my spell. I can do whatever I want with it. You of all people should have known that," she replied in a cool, mocking tone. Jenna then slid herself up out of the chair and leaned up against the desk without any sign of worries or caring. She wasn't even looking at Draco; she was studying her nails. Draco suddenly felt his cheeks become inflamed. He was so mad at this girl. She had put him through 48 hours of torture when it could have ended and she didn't care. All she was worried about were her nails. He couldn't take the sight of her no matter how good she looked in that tank top. No matter how well it fit her curves or how it showed off her milky white skin or how her silky hair cascaded over her shoulder... no, stop! Draco was mad and he wasn't going to let her good looks stop him this time. But he decided there was nothing he could do for now except leave.

Draco started for the door, but Jenna stepped in his path. "Uhh uhh, where do you think you're going?" she asked playfully. Draco sneered and tried to push past her, but she just shoved him back. "Nope, you can't leave yet. Not until I'm finished. I think it's time we've had this out. We need to settle this here and now my sweet boy." Draco stared at her blankly, obviously not understanding what the hell she meant. She chuckled at his reaction, but continued in a low serious tone, "We've been at war for awhile and it's been fun. But I think we need to stop playing games."

Jenna raised her arm in the air and beckoned for something. Draco watched as a long silver sword from the wall soared into her hand, which she caught easily. "No magic though. Just raw strength. I won't use my powers either just to make it fair." Draco still didn't get what she meant to happen. Then he saw the other sword from the wall floating in front of him. He looked at her and she nodded. Draco grasped the handle. Hmmm...a duel. A real one. This could be fun. Or it could be a really really bad idea, he thought. Draco stared up at Jenna again. She looked dead serious. She cocked an eyebrow and lunged.

They were suddenly involved in a heated brawl of swords. Jenna clanged the sword down onto Draco's. He pulled back and then came in from the side. She met him there and pushed him away. She then came down from above and Draco blocked it by placing his sword horizontally above his head. Jenna pushed ahead causing Draco to back up several feet. She swung at him again and he caught the sword with his own and twisted it so Jenna lost her grip a little. This gave Draco a chance to get the upper hand. He climbed on top of a chair and was now towering over her. He plunged his sword straight down at her head. She slammed her metal against his and spun around and hit it again. Then she shoved her sword right at his exposed stomach. Draco had to leap off the chair to avoid being speared. He landed unsteadily as Jenna continued her attack. She made a move to whack him in the head with her sword, but he ducked. Now bent on the ground, Draco swiped at Jenna's feet. She saw this coming and jumped high over it. Draco then stood up again and they clashed their weapons together.

While they were locked in this position Jenna leaned forward and whispered, "You're not too bad for a girl." She laughed maniacally. Draco, fuming, shoved her backwards as they continued to fight. Jenna went to stab Draco in the side, but he bent out of the way. Barely. He then plunged forward at her face. Jenna leaned backward and made a skillful spinning block. Draco then took the offensive and began to make Jenna take steps back. He pushed her hard and she hit a wall. He charged forward with his sword, but she quickly spun out of the way and came from behind him. Draco turned just in time to block her next swing.

Jenna then made it look as if she was going to rip him from the side, faked him out, and went low instead. She took his feet right out from underneath him. Draco felt himself go flying in the air as he dropped his sword and he landed flat on his back with a sickening crack. His vision became fuzzy as he felt the floor begin to turn. Draco shook his head just in time to see Jenna slicing her sword right down at his neck. Draco cringed in fear and covered his face with his arms. But again nothing hit him. He put his arms down and saw Jenna leaning over him, her sword pointed at his throat. Draco realized she was practically lying right on top of him. Her chest was pressed firmly against his. She bent closer to his face, her eyes cold and stern. She looked both seductive and deadly as she glowered at him hatefully. She opened her mouth to speak.

"You are nothing compared to me Draco. I will always win and you will always lose, no matter how hard you try. So if you wanna start something, make sure it's with someone in your own league," she said in a low, raspy voice. He watched both excited and scared as she licked her plump red lips. Then, shockingly, she leaned her head in and crashed her lips into his violently. She overtook his mouth and worked her lips around his with skill. Draco swam in her taste. She then invaded his mouth with her tongue. Draco tried to gasp in surprise, but it was muffled by her kiss. Their tongues wrestled for control and Jenna quickly won. She flicked her tongue across his bottom lip. Draco now had wrapped his arms around her back and she was firmly grasping his shoulders. She pushed her mouth harder into his. The kiss was passionate and angry, lustful and hateful...and amazing. But just as Draco was finally relaxing and getting into it, Jenna roughly pulled away. She shoved Draco's shoulders back onto the floor and pulled herself up. She stood over him for a moment, hate burning in her eyes, and then she whipped around and stalked out of the room.

Wake up
It's 4 AM
Looked up at my clock
Started dreaming of you again
All the time
You act so blind
I know you see a girl in heat
Feeling and reading your body
Damn
Your such a nice hottie
Got a well built body
I got ploy
How 'bout a boy toy?
This doesn't change a thing, you know

Well just to let you know, I still got the power
Do you think we're suddenly together?
I don't care about that much, no
I just wanna be your wish

Don't you wish
If only for a night or two
Oh, the things I'd love to do
New temptations calling you
Don't you wish
That I would run into your arms
Capture me with all your charms
Let me have my way with you

Dear Guy,
I'm never gonna ever be yours, no way
A guy can't hold me down
Gotta do my thing
I wanna be bad with you
That's all
Can't you see
Understand
Be my man
Just one night, hold me tight
Ooh tighter and tighter till I tell you to stop
I didn't mean stop
I meant go, go, go
Wait, I'm done with you

Well just to let you know, I still got the power
Do you think we're suddenly together?
I don't care about that much, no
I just wanna be your wish

Don't you wish
If only for a night or two
Oh, the things I'd love to do
New temptations calling you
Don't you wish
That I would run into your arms
Capture me with all your charms
Let me have my way with you

Author notes: The song in this chapter is "Don't You Wish" by Willa Ford(I hate that biatch! I couldn't find any other songs that fit though. If you have ideas let me know). I changes lines, deleted some, and added some. I butchered it so much I don't feel like naming them.

Ok so info on this chapter. I know I said there would be info on the dream and Seamus but it's gonna be next chapter. I put a little bit in this chap, but as you read I had other plans I had to do. Also you see many sides of Jenna. You see tough, sensitive(how she felt after telling of Hermione and her worry for Seamus), and her evil side. About the song, it makes Jenna come off as a slut, but she's not. She was just kissed Draco out of her attraction, but it was rough out of anger not lust and crap. She's not a whore, I promise. You'll here her side of it in the next chap. Oh and the title. The word predictable is used a few times in the chapter. It also is supposed to be ironic with how Jenna was so unpredictable. At least it was supposed to be unpredictable. Did you see it coming? I did! But of course I am the one writing it! Hehe. Any way, guys please review and tell me whether you love it or hate it! Thanks to PNBK for being the first, and so far only, one to review. I appreciate it!(PS. about Draco thinking- I know it was a little boring and dragged on but it was things that had to be said for the plot line. THANKS again.)
