New Girl At Hogwarts

~*Chapter 1*~

I was sitting on my bed looking at the ceiling. I was still pissed at me parents for making me move. I was perfectly happy living in Oklahoma, but no we just had to move to England. I hated England cause ever since I'd gotten there, it had rained. I was dying to get on my Firebolt; I grabbed the letter that was sitting on my bedside table. It said:

Dear Ms. Morgan,

We regret to inform you that you will no longer be attending the Merlin Academy of Magic. You have been a wonderful asset to this school, your academic achievements will never be matched and our Quidditch team will never be the same. On a happier note, you will be attending Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. We hope to see you again sometime! Have a great summer!

Sincerely,

Morgan Strong

Headmistress

They just had to mention my academic achievements and my talent on the Quidditch field, I had played Chaser on my team, but I could play any position well. I had to admit the house was pretty cool; it was three stories tall, the third floor was for guests, the second story was where we lived, and the first story had our library, living room, etc. I hopped of my bed and ran downstairs. I ran into the library, shut and locked the door, and looked around. I loved our library; it had magical books and some Muggle books too. I had read "Jurassic Park" and all sorts of books like that; I grabbed a book of the Muggle book off the Muggle shelf without looking at the title. I looked at the title, it was "Jaws". I quickly lost myself in the book (that happens a lot!).

"Brooke! Dinner!" my Mom called from the down the hall.

I looked at my watch; it was 5:00 already! I had been reading for about three hours. I marked my place and ran to the dining room. We were having Teriyaki chicken and rice.

"Have you received a letter from Hogwarts yet?" asked my Mom.

"No, not yet," I said.

"You should be getting it soon," said my Mom.

That was the last we heard on that subject, my Mom had started rambling on about the sales in her robe shop (Madame Malkin's had moved), so I always had a good supply of robes (and cash as working there was my summer job). My Dad just sat there and listened (don't know how he could, when she talks like that it bores the crap out of me) so I went and grabbed my book and started reading/eating (one of my many talents. Ha ha!) I finished eating and went to my room, there sitting on my window seat was a soaking wet owl, it had a letter tied to its leg. I opened it and read:

Dear Ms. Morgan,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As a third year, you are required to take at least two new subjects, a supply list is enclosed. The term starts on September first. Third years are also allowed to visit the village on weekends, please have your parent or guardian sign the enclosed permission form.

Sincerely,

Minerva McGonagall

Deputy Headmistress

I finished reading and put the letter down. I dried the owl and let it stay for a while.

I ran downstairs and said, "I got my letter from Hogwarts!"

"That's great Brooke!" said my Dad looking at me over the paper (what paper do you think it is?).

"We'll go shopping tomorrow," said my Mom looking thrilled at the very thought.
