Chapter 2: If only red haired Weasleys weren't such gits
"Hey Eleanor. Wait up..."
Eleanor walked to her class as fast as she could, hoping that Ronald Weasley would get the hint and leave her alone.
She and Weasley were famous for their fights around the Gryffindor Common room. However, after one particular instance where Weasley had saved her from being squashed by the giant squid, the two became sort-of friends. But they weren't anymore now. Not after yesterday at any case.
Weasley was such a stupid git at times. Especially yesterday. Just because Percival was so perfect and had such charming manners didn't mean Weasley could mimic him.
Eleanor closed her eyes at the vision of a serious Percival looking over from his parchment and smiled. She had a crush on Percival for four years running and this year, she was sure something was going to happen. Percival was such a serious and charming gentleman, not like the red- headed stubborn and dumb Weasley she knew...
"Hey Eleanor, where were you running off to?" Weasley came running up to Eleanor and tapped her on the shoulder. He gave a lopsided grin as Eleanor watched his messy red fringe fall stick up on his head. Weasley began again, "Anyone would have thought you were avoiding me Eleanor."
Eleanor tried to keep on walking to her Potions class. However, this was very hard to do with Weasley blocking her path with his body.
Okay Eleanor, count to ten and relax. Just keep on walking and ignore Weasley... Bash him out of the way if you have to...
Eleanor was never good at meditation or inner peace.
"WEASLEY, IF YOU DON"T GET OUT OF MY WAY, I WILL BLAST YOU INTO A FLOBBERWORM!" Eleanor faced Weasley angrily. She tried pushing past him but unfortunately, Weasley was just too stubborn. Of all the annoying things in the world, this had to be one of them.
"Since when did you get back to calling me by my second name, Eleanor?" Weasley stood in front of Eleanor, grinning like the idiot he was.
"Since yesterday when you were rudely making fun of a prefect, Weasley. And one who is very polite and deserves respect from..." Eleanor started rambling on furiously.
Ronald on the other hand still stood there smiling like a drunk troll. He looked maddeningly cute, but of course, being Eleanor, Eleanor never noticed these things. Weasley in her mind, especially after last night was now as repulsive as a three headed beetle dung.
"Weasley, we will be late for potions class. Let me go past you." Eleanor said, gritting her teeth and trying once more to be civilised.
"I'll let you go past me only when you start calling me Ronald again."
Weasley...
Eleanor meant... Ronald was being infuriating again."Okay then. Hi Ronald, how are you? I am going now!" Eleanor snapped, gathered all her strength, pushed past Ronald and walked away angrily.
If only red- haired Weasleys weren't such gits...
"Wait up!" Ronald shouted and ran alongside Eleanor, "I just wanted to apologise for last night's behaviour. I was atrocious wasn't I?"
Eleanor looked very skeptical and mentally blocked her ears. She didn't hear anything. Ronald never apologised to anyone. Eleanor peeked at Ronald's face to confirm her suspicion. However, Ronald looked kind of serious this time. Well, as serious as a red-haired Weasley could get. Eleanor decided to play if safe. "Very funny Ronald, you are just so hilarious with your apologising jokes. I know you would as soon as apologise to me as stick your head down the loo."
"No, I am serious this time," Ronald protested, trying to hide a smile which he felt was going to creep up any moment...
"THAT'S IT WEASLEY. I SAW YOU SMIRK. YOU ARE NOT BEING SERIOUS." Eleanor shouted, her face red with anger.
Ronald mentally kicked himself for smiling but he couldn't help it. It was always so funny to see Eleanor angry. She looked so funny and crazy. And kind of cute in a scary way to Percival perhaps...
Ronald shook his head and just realized that he had been thinking so much that Eleanor had already walked around the corridor. He ran to catch up.
So much for apologising for last night...
Ronald had actually meant what he said. Much as he liked teasing Eleanor, he hated it when anyone upset her, especially that greasy git Sebastian Malfoy...

Tom Riddle was an exceptional boy no doubt. He was smart and he was handsome. There was nothing he was not, except that it would have been much better if Tom was in Gryffindor. However, Tom always had Cassandra to keep his toes out of the dark side of Slytherin. Still, it would have been much better if Tom was in Gryffindor. There was something about the boy already that troubled Professor Dumbledore very much. Something very dark and disturbing was unfolding through the smart young man's brain. Professor Dumbledore checked his watch. It was time for Defence against Dark Arts. Nothing to be worried about the young Riddle though. Nothing, just as long as Cassandra was with him.

Cassandra frowned. She could have sworn that Tom disappeared through thin air. But that couldn't be possible, you couldn't Apparate in Hogwarts, even Ronald knew that. Potions class had just finished and Tom, who had been walking and talking next to her a minute ago had now vanished under the human eye. Cassandra gave a worried glance around the corridor and caught the eyes of Jessica, her best friend.
"Cassa, you look worried, what's wrong?" Jessica asked and walked up alongside Cassandra.
"Nothing. Have you seen Tom anywhere, though?" Cassandra asked, slightly worried.
Jessica frowned and twirled a strand of her blonde hair around her fingers thoughtfully. "I think I saw him walking back to the Slytherin common room. He must have forgotten to tell you. Maybe he went to get his books or something"
Cassandra nodded at this but still remained where she was standing.
"Come on," Jessica sighed and dragged Cassandra towards their next class, Defence against Dark Arts, "Tom will be coming, but we'll be late soon. Its no use for you to be standing here like a gargoyle, waiting for him."
Cassandra walked along Jessica somewhat reluctantly. Something somewhere was nagging at her. Tom always walked to their classes with her. And she didn't trust those Slytherins Tom sometimes hanged around.

Ten minutes had passed and Tom still wasn't in class. Cassandra was getting quite worried and started fidgeting in her seat. She could tell that Professor Dumbledore also noticed Tom's absence.
Just where was Tom?
Maybe I'm just being paranoid...
Maybe, I doubt that. What if Tom got kidnapped by a puffhaerie?
Are you sure those thing still exist Cassandra?
Shut up brain.
I can't and won't.
"Mr. Weasley, would you like to tell the class something?" Professor Dumbledore's voice began humouredly.
Cassandra smiled at Ronald's voice. He was such a funny git in class sometimes.
"Only to say that Miss Arthurs has her books upside down Professor. I was worried about her straining her eyesight." Cassandra turned and saw Eleanor blush and turn her books the right way up. Unmistakably, on the corner of her book was the name Percival scrawled in bright pink letters. And was that love hearts she just saw?
Love hearts drawn from Eleanor? Geesh it must be bad.
The door handle turned and Professor Dumbledore, without moving his head said, "Please be on time next time Mr. Riddle. I wouldn't want you to be missing anything."
Cassandra grinned at Tom as he came and sat next to her.
"I had to get my quill, Cassa. I left it in the common room." Tom explained and smiled quietly at Cassandra.
Cassandra nodded back. She knew she just had been too paranoid.
See, I knew I was right. You are paranoid.
I hate you, brain.
However, a moment later, Cassandra's smile was replaced by a frown as she noticed a diary tucked neatly under Tom's robes. She hadn't seen it anywhere before.

Yep, it's the DIARY. Muhahaha It's the diary where Tom keeps himself locked.
