Werewolf Love- Loved and Lost

PROLOGUE

Remus Lupin and Lessah Ismorah walked across the yard toward Remus' house. It was noon, they were both very tired and the night before had been the night of the full moon. Lessah kicked at one of the chickens as it scrambled franticly to get out of her way. Remus reached for the door, but it threw itself open before he could. Remus' mother was standing in the doorway. Her graying hair was tied back in a tight bun. She was holding something fluffy and headless in her hand. She held it up in Remus' face.

"Remus, what is this?"

"It's a... chicken?" Remus answered cautiously.

"And what is wrong with the chicken?"

"It has..." Remus shifted uncomfortably. "It has no head?"

"And what did I tell you last night before the two of you left the house?"

"Mmmm... Kill a chicken?"

"I said not to kill a chicken Remus," Remus' mother said, frustrated. "Of course, Lessah, I don't blame you."

"Mum, we didn't actually mean to kill the chicken."

"That's right," Lessah chimed in. "We just wanted to maim it. And what better way to maim a chicken than to bite it's head off?"

Remus snickered a bit, but a stern look from his mother shut him up again. Remus and Lessah went into the house and sat at the kitchen table. Remus' mother was still shaking her head about the chicken, occasionally telling Lessah that she wasn't to blame. Remus got the distinct impression that his mother liked Lessah. It could have been the fact that Lessah knew Remus' darkest secret and still wanted to be around him.

Remus and Lessah had been going out since February, but it wasn't until June that they became as close as they were. Remus, while in the form of a wolf, had attacked Lessah after she had followed him into the forest. Consequently, Lessah had become a werewolf. Lessah could have demanded that Remus be expelled from Hogwarts or, even worse, exterminated. The fact that Lessah had offered to get official documents from her country saying that she had always been a werewolf was enough to make Remus' mother love Lessah. Of course, it wasn't until the full moon of August, when Lessah showed up at the house with out warning and told Remus' mother what had happened, that his mother learned the truth. Before that, Lessah had met Remus in the wooded area behind his house.

"Well, Lessah, how will you be getting to Platform 9 and 3/4 this year?"

"My brother is going to drop me off at the station," Lessah said, following a long yawn. "He goes stateside again on the second."

After a light breakfast/lunch, Remus went to his attic room and had a nap. Lessah was downstairs in the guest room. Remus was only half awake when Lessah came up stair and messed up his hair.

"I have to go home now Remus," Lessah whispered in his ear.

"Right... see you at the station..." Remus mumbled sleepily.

Lessah kissed Remus on the forehead. Remus heard the trap door shut loudly and wished that someone would oil the springs.
