Accidental Love
Sage and Contru were on their knees scrubbing the floor in potions for detention. Sage was Sage Tykil, a Ravenclaw male in his sixth year, black hair, brown eyes and somewhat tan skin, he wasn't huge, but he was bigger than most of the other males of his house. Contru was Contru Shori, a Hufflepuff female also in her sixth year. She had brown hair down to her shoulders and brown eyes, she was a little pale, but besides that she was beautiful. Snape had given them the detention; they had managed to, by adding and missing some important ingredients, blow up their cauldrons creating a rather slimy mess. In truth, neither was that stupid, but Sage and Contru were archenemies and had refused to work together correctly. Both of them blamed Snape for forcing them as partners for the day and they couldn't quite see why he thought this would fix things.
'Of all the classes we have to share with Hufflepuff, we had to get Potions with that son of a bitch Snap,'. Sage thought as he kept on scrubbing. Not too far away, Contru was thinking the same thing as she worked. Snape had left to take care of other business, and to make sure they didn't use magic to aid them while he was gone, he took their wands saying that he'd return them when he got back.
"This is all your fault. You know that, right?" Contru said breaking the heavy silence. Sage looked up at her, not too happily. She wasn't even looking at him. Sage started to say something but decided against it, already having had his fill of arguments with her today. Instead, Sage tried to think of what got him here, the event that had sparked such hatred between the two.

Sage was wandering the Hogwarts express when they had first met. It was their second year and Sage had left his small group of friends to walk around the train, looking for nothing in particular. He stopped when he saw Contru alone in a compartment, looking out the window. He stopped and looked at her for a few seconds, then decided to say something.
"Why all alone?" he said abruptly, she turned around, suddenly aware of his presence. She shook her head, not wanting to talk about it. "You mind if I join you?"
"Sure, why not?" Contru replied. Sage sat across from her and followed her gaze out the window. For a few minutes there was silence. Contru spoke up. "What house are you in?"
"Ravenclaw, and you?" Sage asked in reply. Although not looking at him, she smiled and answered.
"Hufflepuff," she said simply. Then Sage said the comment that would start their feud that went on even today.
"Sorry to hear that," Sage said, not remembering why he had said it, but he did remember saying it. Contru looked at him somewhat offended. If Sage had stopped there and left, maybe they would have never become such enemies, but then Sage continued, "I mean Ravenclaw is so much better then Hufflepuff. What has Hufflepuff done lately that's been very significant?"
Contru was speechless at how he could offend her like that and not seem to care. She loved being a Hufflepuff and for another house member to say something like that! She might have been acting a little too harshly but suddenly she found herself doing something that would ensure Sage's hatred of her. Sage still stared out the window, content with the silence not even noticing Contru's foot.
Sage kept staring out the window, and then it hit him, Contru's foot landed right between his legs. Sage hadn't expected a thing, and his face went from shock to pain very quickly. "W...Why?"
"Don't ever put down Hufflepuff again, you ruddy Ravenclaw! Now get out!" Contru screamed at him, he looked up at her through the pain, and crawled away as fast as he could, Contru barely hearing the "bitch" he got out as he left.
Sage and Contru's hatred only increased through the years, each one doing anything they could to piss the other off. It would eventually lead up to the detention they were serving today.

"Finally, I'm done," Sage said to himself. He got up and began to pick up the cleaning stuff he'd been using and put it away where Snape had told them too. Just as he was about to leave, Contru finished as well. Sage went outside the classroom and realized he didn't have his wand, and remembered Snape did. He decided to wait outside the classroom and stood a few feet in front of the door. He turned around when he heard the door opening and saw Contru rushing out. Suddenly however she tripped, on what, neither knew, She started falling...right into Sage.
Contru managed to knock both of them down and she landed on top of Sage, but what both them found strangest about the situation was that when they fell, Contru's lips somehow stopped on Sage's. Now both lay on the floor frozen, both very aware of how they landed, and both very aware that neither one was pulling away yet. It was Sage who would speak up first.
"Um...Contru...," Sage started very nervously. Contru lifted her lips away, but only by a few inches. She looked in his eyes in the dark corridor lit by torches waiting for him to finish his sentence. "Could you move your knee from between my legs?"
"Oh, sorry," Contru apologized, moving her knee, but not getting off of Sage and never breaking eye contact. Sage was rather surprised to hear "sorry" from the girl who hated him so much. They lay there, not moving, looking in one another's eyes, until finally Sage broke the silence.
"What are we doing?" Sage asked suddenly. Contru was a little surprised by the question. Then she decided to take a risk that she didn't know she had in her.
"Well.... I think we were doing this," Contru replied, as she lowered her lips back on to his, kissing him this time purposely. It took all of three seconds for Sage to register this and decide what to do...he responded to the kiss, deepening it to a more passionate kiss. Contru then suddenly became aware that Sage had been holding her hands ever since they fell, but as they kissed, he let go of them and moved his arms around her waist. Contru was too busy registering how deep the kiss was and left his arms there. Then just like that, it stopped. Sage sat up, which moved Contru to a sitting position on his lap; she wrapped her arms around his neck as they moved. Then she noticed the horrified look on Sage's face as he realized he had just been on the floor making out with his worst enemy. "What's the matter?"
"We-we can't be doing this. We don't even like...," Sage was stopped by Contru's hand on his mouth.
"Listen Sage, I'm well aware of how much we're supposed to hate each other, but can you honestly tell me that holding me right now doesn't feel right?" interrupted Contru.Sage noticed his arms were still around Contru when he sighed with defeat...he had fallen for his enemy. Contru knew that he was finally realizing his feelings when she spoke again. "Don't worry; I feel the same way right now, that's why I want to offer you a truce."
"What do you mean?" Sage asked puzzled and still confused about the whole situation.
"We start over. Let the past go away and let us start over with these feelings as our guide. What do you say? Do you accept?" Contru replied in a serious manner.
Sage searched her face for some sort of sign that this might be a trick. Finally he gave up and simply nodded. Contru smiled. "Sage Tykil...I love you."
"Contru Shori, I love you too," Sage answered after a few seconds, but then realizing that this wasn't a bad thing at all he smiled, "And for as long as you'll have me, I'm yours."
"And I'm yours, Sage," Contru replied, very happily. After a moment of letting everything sink in, they got up from the floor and dust themselves off. "I guess we should wait for Snape then huh?"
"Hmmm...let him take his time," Sage said smiling mischievously. He grabbed Contru and pulled her in for another kiss...

"Thank God it worked," Snape said, watching the two new lovers from down the hallway. "I guess you were right McGonagall, love does work in mysterious ways."
"Hmm...well to tell you the truth, I didn't think making them fall into one another would work the way it did," answered McGonagall. "Anyway, now that I helped you with your problem, you have to help me with mine."
"Alright, so who's the couple?" Snape asked, looking at his fellow teacher.
"Mr. Potter, as you call him, and Ms. Granger." Answered McGonagall. Snape looked at her confused. "They aren't bothering my class. I just can't stand how obvious it is they're in love but don't say anything."
"Whatever," Snape answered, not really wanting to help Potter with his love life. "Anyway, I have to go, if those two keep that up in front of my classroom it might go further."
The End
