Chapter 1:

Ginny was sitting with her best female friends, discussing life and other things that they were currently concerned about, mainly their lack of love life. Each of them had crushes, but only Hermione was admitting to hers.

"Ron is just so incredibly good looking. I know you don't agree Ginny, but he has a certain appeal. And he's good on a broomstick."

Luna giggled.

"I used to fancy him as well, I have to admit, but I suddenly noticed somebody else. He's not exactly good looking, but he's got the biggest heart possible, and he is so friendly." She paused, blushing, as the other three girls in the quartet started urging her to say who she fancied. "OK, OK! I kinda like Neville."

Ginny and Lavender stared, surprised, then Lavender shrugged.

"I'll admit my crush then. I always did like guys with dark hair, so it'll be no surprise to you. I've had my eye on Harry for quite a while. It's just a question of getting him. What about you Gin? You must have the hots for somebody."

"I do, but there is no way I am saying, cos you will be so freaked!"

She paused, and a voice spoke from behind the group.

"You might as well admit it, my love. She is in love with me. We've been dating secretly for two years now."

"Draco! You promised me you wouldn't tell! How could you break it like that? I trusted you!" Ginny replied, winking at the blond Slytherin. Hermione and Lavender laughed at the by play.

"Yes, but now my prospective brother-in-law knows I am not going to betray him to the idiot that works for another idiot... we should come clean. Proclaim the love we share."

Luna started to giggle. Draco just stared at her, pretending to be mortified.

"How can you laugh at such a serious moment as this? I am trying to propose to my girlfriend."

"Oh, Draco! I accept!" With a huge smile adorning her face, Ginny leapt up, and gave Draco a kiss. She had just been going along with it, but their kiss seemed to deepen. They pulled apart, and burst out laughing, both of them collapsing onto the floor, Ginny landing in Draco's lap. Hermione shook her head, trying to maintain a straight face. At this point, Ron walked up with Neville and Harry. He glared at the blond, having seen the kiss Ginny had shared with Draco.

"What do you think you are playing at? How dare you kiss my sister like that?"

"Ron, we just admitted our two year relationship! Draco asked me to marry him, and I was accepting." Ginny broke off, unable to continue, and the four girls and Draco burst into more gales of laughter. Harry, however, was watching Draco carefully. Remus had adopted Harry and Draco after Sirius, and then Narcissa Malfoy had died. Lord Voldemort had killed her, after she refused to try to break her husband out of Azkaban. Lucius Malfoy had died while still inside the prison, because he hadn't been able to get enough hair treatments. In other words, he'd committed suicide. Remus, having discovered this, had adopted the boy, shortly before adopting Harry. The two teenagers had become friends, much to their astonishment, and Harry knew that Draco cared deeply for the red-haired girl sitting in his lap. Draco looked up, realising that Harry was watching him, and grinned at him. Ron was still speechless, but Neville had sat down, unquestioningly.

"Who's going to be best man then? And what about bridesmaids? If you want any help with the organization of flowers, I'll help."

"It's all up to Ginny. She's the most important person in my life, so she makes all the important decisions. I want our wedding day to be the most perfect day of our lives, and I trust my girl's judgement."

Ginny sighed, and cuddled closer to Draco.

"And people seem to think that any girl in a relationship with Draco would play second fiddle to his wants. How wrong they are." She kissed him again, gently, and he held her in his lap, with his arms round her waist tightly, as Ron collapsed in a surprised heap next to Hermione. Harry lay down next to Luna, and started to talk to her.

"Harry Potter! Where is that boy? Ah, there you are, dear. The Headmaster would like a word with you quickly." Poppy Pomfrey was shouting across the lawn in the general direction of the group of youngsters.

Harry got up again, with a quick sigh, and walked off towards Hogwarts Castle. Ron went back to gawping at his sister. She giggled again, and whispered to Draco, so that only he could hear.

"Let's carry on with this, design bridesmaid dresses, take the measurements and everything else required for preparing a wedding. If only for Ron's continuing silence!"

Draco nodded, grinning wickedly, and conjured up an engagement ring out of mid air. He placed it on Ginny's ring finger, and then hugged her tight. He watched Ron out of the corner of his eye, then suddenly placed Ginny gently on the ground, and raced off in the direction of the castle. Ron was close behind, him, looking (as Hermione pointed out, rather unkindly) like an irate bull. Ginny gave a little laugh, then turned back to the girls and Neville.
