Chapter Three
------------------------
Draco fitfully tore the contents of his trunk out as he desperately searched for a white robe of some sort, any sort - even a sheet would do! For God's sake, he has even gotten a hold of a set of wings for his costume, but he couldn't even find a white sheet to uses as a robe. With a loud yell, Draco slammed his trunk closed and jumped up.
"Dammit..." he whispered just as an idea slipped into his head. With a quick check that no one was around, Draco slid out of the boys' dorm, across a short hall, and into the girls' dorm. Taking another look around, Draco glided over to Pansy's trunk and opened the creaky lid. The sudden squeak made him a bit nervous. What would he do if Pansy and her friends caught him rummaging though her personal stuff? All he knew was, it wouldn't be pretty.
He shook off the thought and grabbed a frilly white dress that was carefully folded and placed at the bottom of the trunk. Carefully, he held the fragile dress up to his frame to make sure it would fit somewhat. When he was satisfied with that, he hung the dress over his arm and walked back to his dorm. Pansy wouldn't mind much that he was wearing her dress, after all, they were going to the Halloween Masquerade Ball as an angel and a devil, and, Draco naturally being more cherubic than his date, was forced into being the angel. To top that, much to Draco's displeasure, Pansy would use a short-term spell to change her hair and eyes so she's more resemble the devil who is often represented by a male. Therefore, Draco was stuck using the same spell hair to change his hair and eyes to look more feminine. He only hoped that no one would take much notice.
With a heavy sigh, Draco dropped his trousers, pulled off his shirt and began contemplation on how exactly to get into Pansy's garment. After he had figured that it laced up the back - which he found most uncomfortable - he was nearly ready to hence in haste, or not so, with Pansy to the ball. All that was left was to put on his wings. Quickly, he muttered an adhering spell and is two small, feathered wings stuck fast to the back of Pansy's gown. Taking a quick check in the mirror, and making sure his new-grown long, and surprisingly curly, hair looked perfect, he walked from the dorm and into the common room.
"My dress!" he heard Pansy squeal no longer than ten seconds did pass after he had walked into the room. Right then he learned that there is nothing more embarrassing than having your date complain that you look awful in her dress.
------------------------
Arm in arm, Draco and Pansy entered the ball with smiles o' both their faces. Secretly Pansy thought that, with the small amount of make-up she had applied to Draco, he made a very lovely young woman. That is, aside from the fact that he was a young man. And a handsome one under all that make up as well. But, for this night, he had to be as near to female as manly possible and the long curls and deep blue eyes did help marvelous much.
Draco scanned the room, examining the many faces of the many attendants. Finally, his eyes did come to rest upon two familiar faces - Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Both of them had crown perched on their heads, and while Hermione's sat perfectly around a high bun, Ron's sat a bit lopsided. He figured they were supposed to be a king and queen judging by the capes and medieval costumes they wore.
There was a third person, someone dressed as a knight, standing with the two friends, but Draco couldn't tell who the mystery person was and had no time to since Pansy was pulling hardly on his, rather on her sleeve. His attention quickly returned to Pansy as she led him over to a large cluster of Slytherins, none of whom recognized him, nor he talked to. With out knowing it, Draco soon found himself wondering toward the restroom. He had yet to speak to anyone.
