Chapter 2: Persuasion

When Harry came into his kitchen the next morning he was surprised to find Ginny sitting at the table waiting for him with a homemade breakfast laid out on the table. He stopped in the doorway, gave Ginny a questioning look and asked, "What's going on Gin?"

"Nothing," said Ginny, blinking her eyes innocently at him.

"Gin," said Harry, his tone making it clear that he didn't believe her in the slightest.

"Alright, I need your help," said Ginny, letting her false cheerfulness drop.

"Of course I'll help you Gin. You're going through a rough time. Anything you need, just name it," said Harry sitting down in the chair opposite Ginny's.

"I need you to help me rescue my husband," said Ginny.

"We'll all do all we can," said Harry, trying to reassure her.

Ginny brightened and said, "Good! Let's go!"

"Wait!" said Harry, confused. "Where are we going?"

"To complete the first step in my plan," replied Ginny.

"Maybe you should explain your plan to me first," said Harry cautiously.

"We don't have time! Anyway I figured it all out and all you have to do is do what I tell you," said Ginny.

"I'm not going anywhere until you tell me what your plan is," said Harry firmly, concerned at what her grief-stricken mind might have come up with.

"Fine," said Ginny, slumping slightly in her chair as she leaned forward.

"Ok, the Ministry of Magic captured three Death Eaters a couple of nights ago in that raid, right? They were the higher-ups too because of their extra details in their Dark Marks. They're the key to the whole thing. No one know that they were captured except the Minister of Magic and us few who captured them. What you and I do is convince Dumbledore that it would be worthwhile for you and me to go undercover as the wife and husband we captured, the MacNairs. We get that new Polyjuice Potion that keeps working until you take the anitdote. We infiltrate and find Draco plus shut down the whole operation!"

At the end of her speech Harry shook his head and said, "Dumbledore would never agree to you going undercover in the state you're in."

"He'll have to because I'm going, period, and it'll be a lot safer for me to go backed up with you and the Ministry's special gear and supplies," Ginny said, her eyes flashing with the famous Weasley passion. She might carry the name of Malfoy now but she would never posses the cool emotionless façade that all other Malfoys seemed to posses.

"Fine," said Harry, leaning on his elbows on the table. "Let's say Dumbledore agrees to let us go through with it. There are thousands of details about their dealings that they'll never tell you about."

"Not a problem," said Ginny. "The Ministry's got plenty of Veritaserum on hand that we can use to find out anything that we could possibly need to know."

Harry sat quietly for a minute then said, "There's still the safety issue."

"Look," said Ginny, her eyes hardening with resolve. "I'm going to do this whether you go with me or not and whether the Ministry backs me up or not."

"Fine," said Harry after another long minute. "Let's go talk to Dumbledore."
